My tv turns off by itself and makes a clicking noise

My tv turns off by itself and sometimes comes back on immediately. as of recently it shuts off and makes a clicking sound and does not turn back on. i have unplugged my tv so the clicking stops and i wait about 10 minutes or so and plug it back in. sometimes my tv will turn on and looks as if it it working properly. other times it will continue to click. what is the cause of this problem? fuse or a more costly repair? i have a sumsung hp-t4234

Most likely it has some bad capacitors in the power supply. Flat--panel sets are VERY hard on capacitors, due to the fact that the "rising heat' from the set "cooks" the caps and they fail VERY early.

RCA TV, model number 32V550T. No picture but sound is fine.

hiya

this sometimes is quite simple to fix as it cud be a dry joint on the circuit board where the tube motor sits.

or it cud be the tube is on its way out, which wud be cheaper to buy a new tv rather than have it fixed

Clicking noise in the back of tv and wont come on no standby ligh

The TV is in protection mode because of a fault with moving it and then coming on briefly I would suspect that the fault is a dry joint ( a solder joint which has fractured) finding it can be time consuming but it is most likely to be around the caps in the line output stage which need resoldering.

TV doesn't turn on

When the set is turned on, the computer senses that something is wrong and immediately shuts the set back off. The standby LED will then blink a code, a certain number of blinks, to indicate exactly why the set was shut down. It is possible that your audio output IC is shorted, as this would make a pop or strange noises in the speaker just before the set shuts down, which it does to protect your speakers from burning up. The set should be looked at by a qualified tech familiar with Sony TV's.
