Transmission doesn't shift in reverse after it warms up

1990 Audi 100.The automatic transmision shifts in reverse properly and shifts up to second gear properly early after the car is first started from cold. After about 20 minutes of driving it is almost impossible to reverse the car unless it coasts in reverse downhill slightly, then it will connect to reverse.Transmission Also, second gear will connect when I momentarily let off of the gas pedal. Except for that problem, the car seems to operate OK. can you diagnose the problem?

The transmission cable may not be hooked up properly...needs to be re adjusted at the transmission end.

Car has low and reverse, but wont shift out of low, this is a 1994 Audi 100cs
If it is a automatic, could just need a oil change and filter replacement, depending on the milage since the last tranny service.

If it is a Manual, could be a bad bearing or something inside the transmission.
