Black line approximately 1/2 inch wide is present for the full length of the paper when copying document (approximately 1/2 inch in from the right side of the printed paper; not there when printing from computer.
This sounds as if you have some ink/contamination on the small scaning glass that sits to either the left or right of the main glass on the copier.(Depending on the model/make)As your original is scanned over this thin piece of glass the scanning device will see any spots and this will result in a black line down the page. Please clean the glass with a soft rag.

The scan beam of the Kodak E#SP-7 is enclosed and would be virtually impossible to get contaminated. I viewed the scanner beam and the beams do not appear to be contamination. Besides, the black line is way to wide for it to be contamination. It appears that it might be a glitch in the system. Is there a reset procedure I can perform?
