It sounds like your mixer likes to take a beating, ive never dropped one and for good reason, they weigh quite a bit. first check to see if all the rubber legs on the bottom are still there. if they are the only possible solution to fix it after being bent or warped is to either re-shape the part using a tool strong enough to do the job, or to replace the parts needed. the hinge pin part number is 16910. is the base is bent the part number is 240151-1. If the lower portion of the mixer itself is bent or warped this is a serious problem and will require you to dissassemble the entire unit. part number for the lower gearcase is 240350-4 Please not that all the parts list are white in colour. hope this helps.

Thanks

Bowl is stuck in stand - can't get it out. It won't turn clockwise or counter clockwise.

I know they have to turn COUNTER CLOCKWISE to come off the base. Sounds like "magilla the gorilla" put it on the base. Just keep at it. You might try putting some ICE in the bowl to "shrink" the bowl.

Which is the better mixer of these old models: K5A K5-A or K45 SS and what is the difference? KITCHENAID HOBART K5A K5-A 300 WATT MIXER and the KitchenAid Hobart Vintage K45 250 WATT. Thank you

Hello ajlina,

All of these are great home use units, all the attachments are interchangeable between these. The difference between these mixers is the K5 is a 5 quart mixer and the K45 is a 4.5 quart mixer. As I own both of them they are great in the kitchen and have the same durability.

Have any more questions please post to this thread and I will be happy to assist. Thank you for using FixYa.

Beater hitting bowl. Very wobbly, won't stand still when

More likely the pedestal base is bent. Your local service agent has probably seen it before and should be able to bend it back flat again. It's a brutal process with a heavy soft hammer that you probably won't want to see.

Beater won't come off

I am guessing you mean the bowl is stuck. When this happens tap the handle on the bowl a few times. I usually use the palm of my hand.

Kitchenaid 250 watt. Speeds up and slows down on its own?

Call the Kitchenaid service number (1-800-541-6390 in the U.S.). As your unit is still under warranty, and they are very proactive I'm sure this problem will be readily resolved.

KitchenAid 250 Watts; Classic: Leaking Oil

Found this,may be helpful.
Why do I see oil leaking from the beater shaft of my stand mixer?
Some KitchenAid® stand mixers that are not used very often or have been tipped may experience slight oil leakage from the shaft or hub attachment. To avoid the oil leakage, KitchenAid suggests that you run the mixer weekly for short periods of time. Generally, the mixer may lose approximately X cup of oil before repair is necessary. The oil used is FDA approved and is not harmful to consume, should any get into the food that you are preparing.

Kitchenaid Classic -Mixer Head wobbles or shakes back and forth

Lay the mixer on its side and look up through the base. You willnotice a small set screw. This holds the pin tight. If the set screw gets loose the pin willl begin to move out and the head will wobble. Simply tighten the set screw. I just did this to my Kitchenaid mixer 10 minutes ago and it now works fine.

Kitchenaid 250 watts k4ss mixer

The repair manual says that the mixer can make this grinding sound at slow speed, like stir or 2. This is normal, especially until it warms up. This is the sound of the gears turning at slow speed.
