Lanzar VIBE241 Car Audio Amplifier Logo

I paid a store to hook up my lanzar vibe 241 amp and 2 lanzar 12" subs(all brand new). It sounds ok but i have a loud buzzing coming out of it constantly and when i use my power window buttons I hear a clicking. Had it hooked up for 6 months, I blew the fuses once right after it was installed but not since then. I just think it should be a lot louder.(07 Taurus, radio in trunk)

To get rid of the buzzing sound just go to walmart and in the car stereo section buy the $10 rca ground loop isolator, this is the best way to get rid of amp noise

I have a Lanzar Vibe 235 amp. the green power light is not coming on, but the red "protect" light is. how do i solve this problem??

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Time to purchase an old school Lanzar Opti Drive. Any of them. The 50 will kill some 12" subs .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. lanzar-vibe-235-amp-green-power-shonxoarcym4awy4zl1imx4o-2-0.jpg Lanzar

Wiring

In all reality, that amp is probably a bit small for those two subs. To maximize the power from the amp to the subs, make sure:
  • The dual voice coils of each sub are in parallel (+'s together, -'s together). This makes each sub 2 ohms.
  • Connect the subs in series (+ to -). This makes the combination of subs together 4 ohms.
  • Bridge the 2 channels of the amp to the subs in series (see above).
This will put somewhere between 150-200W to each sub.

Keep in mind, though, that depending on the music type and location in the vehicle, the type and size of the sub box is going to make almost as much difference as how much power is on the subs. Sealed boxes are usually small and have a nice flat response, but tend to need more power to sound louder. Ported and bandpass boxes are larger and aren't as flat of a response, but have nice loud peak at a certain frequency.

Lanzar Vibe 1200D protection light

You will need to show it to a service technician as it seems the output section has blown so it remains in protect mode. One reason (could be) that the input to the amp was high and may have been clipping for some time before the amp decided it could take it no more

Protection mode on Lanzar Vibe 241

Almost without exception, if the protection light comes on as soon as you power it up, the output transistors are defective. Any reputable repair shop that services car audio equipment should be able to repair it.
