I can't listen to my recordings in File C. They will stop and the screen will read System Check and then it goes back to File A. When I return to File C, I see a list of the files and the last one is scrolling as if playing

Can i attach backup device to my lg HT356SD?

I would say yes, from what the manual says, the LG HT356SD has some Unique Features:

#1 Portable In : Listens to music from your portable device.
(MP3, Notebook, etc)

#2 USB Direct Recording : Records music from CD to your USB device.

Read the manual, on page 26 it will show you how to do it, I found it at www.theatresystem-manual.com under lg, or go directly to the link I provided.

http://www.theatresystem-manual.com/manuals/lg/LG_HT356SD.pdf

Recording to USB
1. Connect the USB device to the unit.
2. Select a DVD/ CD function by pressing
FUNCTION.
One track recording - You can record to USB after
playing the file you want.
All tracks recording - You can record to USB after
stop.
Program list recording - After showing the
programmed list, you can record it to USB.
3. Start the recording by pressing X REC.
4. To stop recording, press Z STOP.

Error message stop 0x00000024

which operating system ?

If you get the Windows blue screen, you can determine which stop code you have and determine what you need to do in order to get your computer back to working correctly.

First, make sure that you have this error code - Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. This message shows that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. One possible problem is a malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers. This can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors. If the computer is using a SCSI hard drive, check both for cabling and termination problems between the SCSI controller and the disks. You will need to periodically check the Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log. You can also use Autochk in the Application log. Try the following. First, Double-click My Computer, select the hard disk you want to check. Then, on the File menu, click Properties. Then, click the Tools tab. Next, in the Error-checking box, click Check Now.
Finally, in Check disk options, select the scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. You can also select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.

I have a gigaset 4215 answering machine (but it says 4200 on the actual phone)...but no manual...and am trying to figure out how to record message for the answering machine so people know its mine...but...

You control the answering machine from the handset. First turn on the answering machine. Press Menu then use the up/down arrows keys to navigate to Ans Machine. Press OK then navigate to Answering M. Look for a check next to this to indicate it is on. Press OK to toggle the answering system on or off. Then press End or left arrow to return to the previous menu. If the machine's memory is full, it will switch off. Delete messages so that the unit will keep the answering machine feature on.

Next to record a new message follow the above steps to reach the Ans Machine menu and press OK. Scroll to Announcements and press OK. Scroll to Record Annc or Rec Annc Only (if no messages will be recorded). Press OK then bring the handset to your ear and listen for the notification of recording and then the tone. State your message clearly into the microphone of the handset. Press End to stop recording and listen to the unit play back your announcement. (It will stop automatically after 170 seconds or a 2 second pause in your speaking.) If an Annc Only message is available, the machine will play it when the memory is full. Otherwise, it will turn off.

To select your announcement (and recording type) follow the above steps to Announcements and press OK. Then scroll to Mode and press OK. Scroll to Annc or Annc Only (available if the Announcement only recording has been made) then press OK. Again OK toggles the announcement on or off; look for a check mark to indicate the announcement will be played. Press End to exit the menu.

Retrevo has the manual for the Gigaset 4215 here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Siemens-4215-Telephones-manual/id/23319bh144/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to download the file.

I hope this helps.

Err format while recording - 1 hour lost!

I have almost the exact same problem.

I did not interrupt my recording. I stopped recording, turned off the recorder, unplugged all the mics, turned on the recorder, listened to the first 10 seconds of the recorded track, turned off the recorder, plugged it into my mac, turned it on in USB mode, attempted to transfer the track file, and the track size is "zero kb." I ejected the recorder, turned it off and back on, and now the track says "err format" and skips to the next track.

This seems like a unique problem, as any "data recovery" software will search for deleted files instead of corrupted files. And even if the file is corrupted I have software that can read the raw wav data. However, the filesize is incorrect and obviously doesn't contain any wav data. Shouldn't it be the actual file size? How can I fix this???

Can I use this MP3 player with Window Vista software

Video files must be .AMV formatted to work on this MP3 player. Below is a link to an amazing converter. It’s FREE and will convert your entire file.
http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070610062401AAZXp2P

Once you have the video files formatted to .AMV
  1. plug your MP3 player into the computer
  2. Go to MY COMPUTER, you should see a scroll bar on the left.
  3. Find your .AMV VIDEO
  4. Drag file to the Scroll Bar, hold the file over the GPX DEVICE
  5. Two folders will appear under it. Put file into ALBUMS

To then access videos put onto the device. Hold the MODE BUTTON on your MP3 player until you are returned to your menu screen. Scroll to MOVIES and your videos will be there. :D To return to listening to music or looking at Pictures, hold the MODE BUTTON and simply select your desired destination.

Picking up dictation where we left off after playback DS 40 voice

Unfortunately with this recorder, if he hits the stop button and rewinds it will go back to the beginning of the file. He may want to look at our DS-2300 or DS-2400 recorders as they both have a feature on them of a NEW button which will allow him to stay in the same file until he presses NEW to create the next recording.

No program information on my sony HDX 560

I had this problem. I found that when you record from the EPG it can change quite frequently. When this happenes then your recording will automatically get deleted. To sort this out I would use the Guide plus system on your box and then the problem wont occur any more
