I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.
If it is a Poulan Pro gas pole saw it is here: PP445 Gas Pole Pruner
The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH

Pull both hoses through the holes in the bottom of the tank and out the top. Connect the fuel filter to the small hose and pull it back into the tank leaving about 2 inches of the hole in the tank. Place the plastic fitting in the big hose and pull back int othe tank until it is snug. Attach the small hose to the carb. Attach the big hose to the primer, long nipple. Run another large hose from the primer, small nipple, to the carb,
My poulan pro starts easy, but only runs until the gas from primer runs out... then stops.. have replaced filter, made sure fuel line is clear.. idle speed seems o.k. what is next to do
There seems to be a problem with the in tank fuel filter on these saws. The filter "floats" on the end of the fuel line in the tank and if the filter becomes disconnected the fuel line sticks up and does not pick up fuel properly. The saw I have the fuel line had split at the filter attaching point and the filter was rolling around freely in the tank. You will need to check the fuel line and if it is cracked the tank will need to be removed so the entire line can be replaced.
