This may be because:
1) The adapter has fried.
2) The battery has short circuit.
3) Or the motherboard.

If this is due to motherboard, you may be in serious problem.
To check the battery and adapter test them individually on a separate system.
In my knowledge it is the adapter which has fried up and I think you are running your system on DC most of the time.

Either a bad AC adapter or a short in the motherboard.

Try another adapter. If that doesnt do it the machine will have to be taken apart by a good tech who can trace power circuits on the motherboard.

Have a Toshiba Qosmio F45-AV411 and downloaded windows 7 last night. worked fine then I put comp in to sleep mode when I tried to turn on today looks like it is booting up and then goes to a black screen...

Try to boot up the computer using safe mode first. Keep on tapping the F8 key the moment you turn on the computer. If your computer wont boot to safe mode then you need to re-install windows 7.

Trouble installing HP Deskjet 3845 printer in new comp-uter. The computer indicates it has been installed but it will not print test page.

try opening your printer's folder (start>parameters>printers) and make sure the printer icon is there ..then make sure it's set to be your "defalt printer" ..(should be marker with a little black arrow if it's so )..then test it again ..

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064; can't get battery to charge

If you put strain on the jack (e.g. hang power adaptor from it whilst using or charging) then the socket on the mainboard can get hot due to poor contact and melt.

There is no way to fix this except to completely dismantle the laptop and fit a new socket - most likely a repair centre will charge you for a new mainboard.

Try another adaptor to see if that is the problem (broken wire in cord) - otherwise look closely at the socket in the notebook.
