PS2 doesn't acknowledge memory card in memory card slot 1

Memory card slot 2 works, but some games look at memory card slot 1 first (Guitar Hero III). Any suggestions?

memory slot 1 doesnt read anyone know how to fix??

  • itisme Apr 28, 2008

When playing one of the older games - MOH1 - Spyro1 - JetMoto - etc. With a brand new or old memory card in slot one, I get a message that says that there is no memory card in slot one and the game can not save. All of the newer games play and save just fine, with the same memory cards installed. Anyone have a fix for this? I took the first console back figuring I just had a bad one, however, when the second one did the same thing - I figure there must be some kind of issue. Note - neither slot will get a reaction to the memory card issue.

The guitar hero world tour does not play on my playstatin 2

We had the same problem with Guitar Hero World Tour for PS2. We have an older fat PS2 that would play all of our other games but this one. I tried changing the settings to fast/smooth, changed the diagnostics, still didn't work. Finally, I took The PS2 apart, blew out the dust, cleaned the laser lens with a qtip and rubbing alcohol, dried it gently with a dry q-tip, and the game works!!

Memory Card Guitar Hero 3

Try this... if you have another Mem card then insert it in second slot and start Sony browser now copy your save game data form Mem card 1 to Mem card 2. Place the second mem card in first slot and start game now load your game. Best of luck.

Ps2 memory card

First of all, make sure the card is in slot one. I'm not sure about Guitar Hero 3, but I know many games default to searching the first slot (the one on your left as you look at the system).

Assuming that's not the problem, it could be a sign that your memory card is wearing out. Do you have a second memory card? If not, I suggest getting one. Either way, put one card in each slot, and go into the browser. Copy the Guitar Hero saves over to the other card, then put that card in slot 1 and see if it works. If it does, I suggest copying all your saved games over to the new card, and throwing the old one out before you lose any save games permanently.

Guitar Hero III on PS2 Saving Failed

Could be. Maybe the game doesn't recognize the 16 MB. You can try an original 8 MB Sony one. They're not that expensive anymore. But first try the other Memory Card slot.

Let me know if it worked. Please rate.

No data for guitar hero III

I'm using the slim... maybe it is the type of memory card but guitar hero is the only game I've had a problem with. I just restarted the game and then beat it over again. After it said that there wasn't any data and I chose to make a new one, it said that there was data but it was corrupt. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but I haven't had any trouble since I started over the other one.
