Optiarc dvd rw ad-7563a ata device not reading discs?

Is this an internal or external drive? if it is an internal one then on the device manager screen where it is hows the yellow sign on signoptiarc dvd rw ad 7563a ata device, right click on that an click on uninstall.....And if any pop up comes up click on ok and restart the pc after that. Wait for the pc to reinstall the driver for the dvd drive. And then check the status of the dvd drive on device manager. If it does not have any yellow sigh then try again.

try re-installing deice driver....if do not work...replace the drive.

This is the problem with optiarc drives. I suggest you buy an original Sony drive the next time. Hope the problem is mainly with CDs.

To delete the offending keys, open the Registry and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCl ***\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. . Delete the keys named UpperFilters and LowerFilters and reboot.

It seems to be a common problem on the gateway systems. To correct this you need to go into your Registry Editor. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} When you click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} look in the right side box. You should see an entry labeled UpperFilter delete this entry. You may also have a LowerFilter if so delete this as well. Exit Regedit and reboot. This solved the problem for me.

Go to this incredibly long link (sorry about that) and look though the solutions there, it says it is for hp and sony computers but it has the same principal for all dvd/cd drives
