I keep getting a code F21 how do I unclog the washer

F20 water only problem insufficient water supply open both hot and cold unclog hoses
F21 Drain problem clogged,frozen kinked
SUD excess sud using non he detergent or to much detergent
F22 front door lock door not closed properly
For these select poepwer/cancel twice to cancel cycle
Other f codes select power/cancel twice select drain& spin if youhave excess water

Error message SUD and F21 even after unclogging the filter

Push the pause/cancel button twice to clear your message. Then run through a rinse/spin cycle. Next try a normal load without any detergent. SUDS is usually from too much detergent. If this fails, checked the hose for kinks. Check connections and if all that fails, you will probably have to replace the pump. Good Luck!

Flashing display 7 mins into cycle. Water drains away and eventually display goes blank. Help?

Do you get an F21 code or some other code.

An F21 code means the water is not draining away properly. There may be plugged pipe.

Here are some tips to help you:

1. Check to make sure the washer's drain pipe is draining properly.
2. Check the drain hose to see if there are any kicks or clogs in it.
3. Check the washer for excessive subs. Sometimes excessive subs can also keep the water from draining.

Of course, the above tips are useful only if you have a F21 code. If you have other error codes, you'll have to look at the manual that came with the machine.

F21 code still flashes after i've unclogged line - reset?

Need directions to unclog my Whirlpool duet washer which is giving me a f21 code.

Empty the washer and get some towels...

Unplug the washer.
Remove the kick panel 4-8 screws along the bottom with a Torx 15 screwdriver.
Directly in front of you will be the pump and the cleanout (large twist-cap).
Pack towels under and around the cleanout.
Turn the cap counter-clockwise and pull out.
Remove any debris.
If you have an additional cylindrical pre-filter, remove and clean it.
Re-assemble.
Plug in the washer

Note: If you see bubbles or foam in the cleanout, you're using too much soap.

There is a strainer on the drain pump that is clogged. The manual does not mention this at all, it merely states the drain hose is kinked or clogged.

Under the front door there is a panel that is the width of the machine and is held in place by two screws, one on either side.

When you remove that you will see the pump and the the strainer attached to it. Unscrew the strainer (put a small pan under it to catch excess water) and remove to remove the junk accumulated.

-or- you'll need to replace the pump.

Also, attached to the panel is another manual that refers to the error codes you are seeing.

Thanks it worked great in just a few minutes. Now if it ever happens again i know how to fix it. Baby socks got into the drain.
