1) I shut down ALL unnecessary processes, especially McAfee
2) I switched to white-coated DVDs. I read somewhere (can't now find the url), that drives that write to DVD-ram as well as other formats need the white-coated DVDs (I used Sony), as opposed to the silver-coated ones (Verbatim, Memorex, HP. [I used Nero, Info Tool, to diagnose my DVD drive.]
means you have a faulty or failed DVD burner (error is Power Calibration Error, returned through the ATAPI driver). Test with different /branded/ blank media, if none work then replace the drive.If you find one that works, stock up.
hey i have also had the same problem, but mine was as simple as dodgy dvd's. i bought about 25 in bulk and that same code ff037303 came up with about 10 of them. even when i tried to create dvd in another program it got to 98% then stopped. go and buy new dvds and try again. great camcorder though.
I use the Everio exterio burner and only dvd- and JVC disks do not use the plus DVD
