Check your local thrift stores, i.e., Goodwill for a crockpot that is the same or similar and pull the knob. It will be very cheap.

If you have an appliance parts store nearby, take the old knob or the crockpot to them to see if they have one. Our appliance parts store is called "A1 Appliance" Look in your yellow pages or check with friends. Best of luck

For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.

Try the hardware store. Look at the dimmer knobs.

Rival doesn't seem to care that their lid handles don't hold up. I'm going for the drawer-pull solution, myself! You would think a big company like that would be interested in how poorly their products hold up, especially since the cooker itself (I also have the SC609) is just fine; it's just a case of using poor quality materials for a lid handle. Or maybe it's planned obsolescence, hard to tell.

I replaced my lid handle for the top of this crock pot by going to the hardware store and buying a wooden knob with a center screw.

Some models of Rival crockpots were included in a safety recall due to handles that break. You might want to check www.rivalrecall.com and see if your model and vintage is included.
