The NG will be followed by the error code, that will tell you why it went wrong.

NG is just the error and not the problem, you have to read the code with the NG, it could be a phone line problem, a problem with the fax on the other end, a busy or not answered fax...any number of problems.

I need to know if ny faxes were delivered even though I received results and comments such as NG, Cancel, OK, TX and TX,ECM.

The results your machine prints sometimes are only guides as to the conditions of the line etc, etc,....if you have to know with ABSOLUTE 100% CERTAINTY that the fax was recieved at the other end then you wil l have to call them on the phone, or send them an e-mail. and ask!!!!

Multipass mp390 cannot fax

There are many things that can cause that, the error number is listed with the NG code. Could be the fax on the other end not responding, bad phone connection, improper setup like the setting for pulse and tone dialing. or using a digital phone line instead of analog.

OUTGOING FAX ERROR CODE: NG

Hi,
I can advise you on the 'memory full' problem, mate.

If you get a MEMORY FULL message while scanning the first page of a fax, press Stop to cancel the scan. If you get a MEMORY FULL message while scanning in a subsequent page, you’ll have the option to press Start to transmit the pages scanned
so far, or to press Stop to cancel the operation. In this case, send the fax by the Manual Transmission.
Depending on your typical faxes, MEMORY FULL errors can occur frequently. If this happens, change the Memory Transmission setting back to OFF.
To do this:

Press Function/Set, 3, 9.
This should take you to MEMORY TX
and MEMORY TX: ON?
Then press either the left or the right arrow (< or >) to switch on or off, and press Function/Set.
For the next fax transmission only, press < or > to select
NEXT FAX ONLY and press Function/Set.

This will mean you don't add any more to the memory and may be able to send faxes. There is a possibility that you will only be able to fax using manual transmission, but at least you should be able to use the machine to fax at all!

I apologise if the jargon is confusing, just try to go through the process one step at a time and you should be fine.

Hope this helps :)

Faxes won't complete transmission

those noises you hear are line noises via your phone line, not machine related but they wreak havoc on faxing. first you need to replace the actual line connecting the fax machine to the wall. If this doesn't fix the problem then have your phone lines tested. also make sure your machine is set for digital or analog service, depending on which you have. Good Luck.

Canon fax mp780 says 'ERROR TX REPORT' 'result NG', what do I have to do to to snd the document? The manual has no translation of error codes!

If you go into the fax tx settings and turn off ECM setting, the fax should send (at least it did for me when I had the same problem).

MP830 Canon Faxing problem

Display the fax menu and then select Print Report\List and print the Users Data List. Check the setting of the ECM TX setting. If this is ON turn it OFF. This is the Error Correction Mode setting, probability is the fax you are sending to is not ECM compatible. The MP830 is suppose to automatically send in standard mode if receiving machine is not ECM compatible however I am not sure how well this works. Turn the ECM setting off by displaying the Fax Menu and then select Maintenance\Settings, Device Settings, Fax Settings, TX settings, ECM TX.
