My camera lens isn't working, how can I reset it?

I have a Panasonic Lumix(on the lens, it says oc vario-elar 1:3.3-4.9/4.6-46 asph. I don't know if that makes any difference) anyway, I went to turn it on yesterday, the lens came out, the screen went gray, and told me to please turn my camera off, and back on. So I did. The lens didn't go back in.My camera was down to one bar of battery, so I charged it to see if it helped. Well it didn't. The lens is still out, and the screen told me to turn it off and back on again. What can I do? It's onlyy about 3 years old, and I don't know what to do

It sounds like there is dirt, dust or something else in the lens mechanism. I'm assuming you don't want to take the camera to a repair shop. I've had several cameras and this issue comes up periodically.

You can try:

1. using compressed air (with as thin a nozzle as you can find) to blow out the dust,
2. try powering on the camera and zooming the lens at the same time, 3. gently knocking the camera on a hard surface to loosen the lens mechanism,
4. manually forcing the lens to go back in. This can potentially damage the camera, but it's not working now, so you don't have a lot to lose.
5. Googling the camera model to see if you can find instructions on opening the camera up to clean the lens mechanism.

Testimonial: "thanks, i'll have to try that :)"

In Chile just bought a camera Lumix DMC FZ70, zooming only works in automatic mode AI in the other modes only works zoom 1 to 3x, please indicate what should I do

Zoom 1x to 3x sounds like the limits of optical zoom. The other zoom option may be digital zoom, which merely interpolates pixels to give the impression of a larger picture, and, as you reach the limit of the zoom, the picture quality may be so degraded that the image is unusable.

Panasonic LUMIX 14-42mm GX VARIO PZ lens on GF-1 Body

When using different lenses, a few things should be kept in mind. For some you need an adapter and not every lens ail work as the lenses made for this camera. Sometimes focus or other things needs to be set manually. So even when you can connect a lens to the camera you don't have any guaranty it will work fully automatic and correct. Please read the manual tag came with your camera, about the differences between the four thirds cameras and lenses.

My camera says memory card protected how do i take this off

Eject memory card and flip the white switch. If that doesn't fix problem some cameras can add accidental deletion protection which first needs to be disabled

Panasonic lumix dc vario can't download pictures onto computer

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

The problem is in a digital camera Panasonic Lumix model FS5. When I start the camera appears a message that say: Please turn camera off and the then on again. When I restart the camera this message...

Sounds like you're experiencing a lens error. The camera is having difficulty extending the lens. Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

Leica 28mm elmarit F2.8 asph - coded, 18 months old - have noticed that the outer bezel is rotating freely within the aperture ring, any suggestions or advice on the problem and repair/fix thanks

Given that this is a lens worth in excess of £1000, I respectfully suggest that you don't risk doing anything which may damage it further. Take it to a Leica specialist for advice.

Before doing so get a better informed opinion from other Leica M-series users. Try the following free forums:-

LCD showing "remove len cap and press reset button" always

Simple! Read warnings carefully! It said "remove lens cap and press SET button"! So remove the lens cap and then press the SET button (or arrow downward in the four directions button)! You don´t need to RESET anything...
