lost discs with instructions for my Brother XL sewing machine and am finding difficulty to adjust the thread tension and it is not catching the thread properly
Take the thread out, Take the needle plate out Watch as the needle comes comes down, make sure the hook is just above the eye of the the needle as it makes its pass by the scarf of the needle if not refer to my post on timing.
these are the best setting i have found for sewing through thick materials, specifically leather and vinyl:
top tension- between 8 and 9
bottom tension- between 4 and 5
stitch length between 3 and 4
stitch type: 2
that is just what works best for me, i have a brother xl-2600i
