I have a 20 year old Magic Chef stove model # 31HA-92KX-ON . The burners work on top, but the oven does not light. I don't even hear, or smell, the gas running in either. Ignitor?

The spark electrode sends a spark to ignite the gas in the burner assembly. If the spark electrode is defective or worn out, it might not produce a spark, or the spark might be too weak to ignite the gas. As a result, the spark electrode will make a clicking sound when the burner is turned on, but the burner won't light. If the spark electrode is defective, replace it.
The number you list looks like a part number this may be the part number of the tag. If the top opens the model number plate could be under there. A 20 year old stove may have a problem getting the electronic control.
Is the ignitor you need for the oven, stove top surface burners. If for the oven is it about a inch or so in round diameter and about 4-6 inches long with 2 wires to it and glows when oven is turned on? the very old ignitors for the oven was a square/rectangle glow plug about a inch or so square
Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.
You probably have a 1940's model of Magic Chef. Check for the model number under the lid of the cook top on the upper right hand side of the stove.
