I had a scanner with 800mhz .. programed it to scan from 900.000
to 800.000 .. between those freqs. ..found several calls ... from cell phones .. but that was not what I was looking for ... I just ran into it by accident.

Police Officers ...from all agencies .. monitor cell phones .. all the time so if it illegal for citizens to do it , it should be for them also but I under the impression judges turn a blind eye to that fact.

Yeah it's called a fake cell phone tower or "stinger" the get your phone to hook up dump the i,p and then track until you cycle down and bk up. That's why blackberry q10 was hated. Not hackable lots of fellows tried there was even a million dollar reward if someone could but it has never been done successfully.

Get in your time machine, and go back 15 years. No, really, 98% of cell phones today are digital. Even if you can receive on a cell frequency, you wont hear an analog audio signal, just a bunch of digital noise.

It's a violation of federal law to manufacture a scanner capable of receiving cellular communications, and modern scanners cannot be modified to do so. Older scanners touted as capable of receiving cellular are only capable of receiving frequencies and/or systems that are no longer in use.

There's several online companies offshore that sell scanners that cover anywhere from .1 to 3,300+mhz...cell phones operate in the 850/900/1800/2100 range

I have included the links and info below and will let you take it from there

Heads up that in some countries / States this can carry severe penalty.

I cannot give any direct information and it up to you to make sure you apply to the laws of your state etc

A good source of information are the two sites below

Frequencies

Scanner software

With any luck you will also find either the manual or a link to it there as well as quite a lot of other useful information that would give you guidance as to the legality

Unless you can break spread spect digital you cannot. This is what prevents "cross talk" In other words The digital signal is within an analog carrier wave and the devices, receive and tx, are in sync as to where the start bit and stop bit in the logic is located in the timing.

My uniden bearcat 50 channel 800mhz stop the police, fire ect.. and only gives me weather.. why? can you help ?

  • You can try pressing "Manual" and then "Scan" or "Band" buttons from the weather setting to get you back to scanning the police, fire, etc.
  • Make sure you don't have a WX (Weather) frequency programmed into on of the regular 50 channels or the scanner will continue to stop every time around as it will pick up the WX frequency.
  • Make sure you have your scanner programmed as well.

I have a uniden bearcat scanner 30 channel i would like to know if it is possable to add any software or chip to make it able to pick up aircraft frequencies ? ...

Sorry, but it's been a long time since scanners could be modified to extend or change their frequency coverage. The AIR band in your BC350C allows you to monitor commercial, private, and some military aircraft. If you want full military air coverage though, I suggest that you look at the reasonably-priced BC370CRS.

Is there a video on how to manually program the bearcat scanner BC355C 100 channel to put in my area frequency into the scanner?

Sorry, but there is no such video that I know of. Besides that, your BC355C is not a programmable scanner in the standard sense, in that you cannot enter frequencies via the keyboard. You can, however, transfer a displayed frequency from the SCAN or SEARCH mode into the PRIVATE bank. Fairly simple instructions are in the factory manual that you can download and print, at no cost, here:

I have a bc350c 800 mhz and cant get nothing but static how to i get the police channels to work

Try tuning known frequencies, such as the NOAA weather channels, to verify the working condition of your scanner. If it picks them up, you don't have your local police system/frequencies programmed properly. If there's no reception, even on NOAA, you have an antenna or receiver problem that may need professional attention.

In case you need it, you can download/print the manual for your scanner here:

Uniden Bearcat BC 350A scanner won't pick up 800 channels

You BC350A provides coverage of popular bands between 29 and 512MHz, so it is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz range. Sorry, but you'll need a different scanner to follow the action.

To get celluar frequencies on bc350c 800mhz 100 channel scanner.

Jason,

You can no longer listen to cell phones with police scanners as all cell phones are now digital. Years ago when cell phones were using the 800mhz band it was possible. But only with select older models of scanners such as the BC-200XLT and after an internal modification to allow tuning of 860-880 mhz range. I do believe there is equipment out there that can listen to digital cell phones but its very expensive ($10,000) and only for law enforcement use. Hope this answers your question.

How do i clear all channels and start over putting in new ones

There is no global clear/erase function on the BC350C, but programming a new frequency on a channel automatically deletes/erases the old frequency. To delete an inactive or troublesome frequency, program "000.0" in that channel. Doing so will deleted the previously programmed frequency and set the LOCKOUT to ON for that channel. For more information on deleting frequencies, see page 27 of your operating manual.

How do you clear all channels so i can put the channels that i want in it

There is no need to clear the scanner before reprogramming. When you enter a new frequency it will automatically overwrite the old frequency. To clear unwanted frequencies you can program "0.0" into any channel to clear it, or simply use the LOCKOUT feature to prevent the scanner from stopping on a channel.

Modifiy scanner

Sorry, but by law your scanner is not capable of receiving cellular frequencies, and there is no modification that can enable such reception. Don't feel too disappointed though, as nearly all cellular transmissions are digital now, and that's a mode that your scanner could not decipher even within its frequency coverage.
