Emachine T2742 MB D845EPI/D845GVSR

I had a probelm with the A drive and had to remove the front panel to replace it. I mistakenly removed three connectors from the MB & did not notice were they went. They are as stated PWR Led (blue/white)/ HDR Led (red/white) & PWR S/W (black/white) they connect to a nine pin area J9G1. I have tried diagrams from the Intel site but to no avail. I am not able to power on my childrens Pc, please I need help. Or could it be something else? The green light is on when it is connected to power, FYI.

PC will not power up. Removed P/S and had it tested, it is okay. Also tested push button (ON/OFF) switch (momentary) this also test okay. Is there something on the mother board I can replace to fix this problem????

eMachine T2742 will not turn on! I replaced the Power Supply and I am able to see the green light shine on the motherboard which is a step in the right direction. But it will not turn on when I hit the button, I removed the color wires going to the motherboard and replaced them. My next step is to check the on off switch in the front.

I was given an emachineT2742 that would not turn on. I replaced the power supply, and that did nothing. I replaced the power switch, but still nothing. If anyone has an idea other than a fried motherboard, I would sincerely appreciate the feedback.

The wiring on the panal header J9G1 has come off in transit, I can't get the PC to power up, I can get the red LED light on front panal to come on, but can you tell me the correct order I should put the other colour wires.

Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR Manual (Product guide)

If you want to purchase a new MB or MB w/processor at a reasonable price, I found this site >

http://oemxs.us/shopping/index.php?target=products&mode=search&subcats=Y&type=extended&avail=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&q=BOXD845GVSR

F.Y.I., any standard ATX power supply @ 250W or better should work in this box. I picked mine up at a swap meet for $5.00.

Hope this helps!

Check the capacitors near the fan. I had the same problem and saw that the capacitors had overheated.

I have an emachines t3958 w/ intel d845epi/d845gvsr, it will not turn on. i have replaced the power supply, and i believe everything is plugged in correctly. help!

Hi there,
Do any fans or lights come on?

Here's things I'd check:
-Replace Power supply (You already did this)
-Try a different AC outlet, remove any surge protector
-Remove the Power Button Cable from the MB and short those pins
with a screw driver just for a second.. (to eliminate a bad power button)
-Verify that the Power button is connected to the correct place.
-Verify the voltage selector on the Power supply is set to 115V (if that's what you have)
-Verify the Power supply's additional switch is set to on (if it has one on the back)
-Verify the CPU is seated correctly and securely.
-Verify there is no metal screws or anything like that sitting on the motherboard.
-Verify that the extra 4 Pin 12V connector is connected (if present on
this MB)
If none of this works, the motherboard might be dead.
Good luck!

Can u possibly tell me where i might be able to download a schematic for an EMachine desktop computer model #T2742? It is out of warranty and was donated to our church and we need to know where to...

Hi dallasblue08,

Here's a diagram of what your looking for:

The following eMachine models share the same motherboard (and thus the same front panel layout):

Emachine T3828 power switch connection to motherboard

The "Ultra Helpful Instructions" that Emachines provide (here: http://downloads.emachines.com/userguides/8511279_eM_NG3_chassis_HW_ref_en.pdf) state that when replacing the system board, "18. Attach all cables to new system board", but fails to say where that would be for each cable.

The site below says it's a genuine Intel board in there, so, congrats on that. http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket478/D845GVSR.shtml

And with that, the link to the manual:
ftp://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845GVSR/SR_English.pdf

You're looking for the info on page 32, I believe.

See if that fixes it up. If not, post back.

Emachine t2742 I also have a wiring problem!

gtater,
It's ironic that you ask me this question today-- i am just now carrying in another eMachine computer to fix. Anyway, unfortunately I do not have one that is the same model as yours (T2742). However, I did some quick research and found that yours has the same exact motherboard as the T2898 which I made the diagram for!

The following eMachine models share the same motherboard (and thus the same front panel layout):
T2742 T2796 T2798 T2824 T2885 D2823 T2862 T2896 T2898 T2958

284ecac.png

For further reference, I would like to share this diagram for the eMachines T6544 in case someone else may need this model. This is the computer I just carried in... might as well share.

By the way, the power switch doesn't need to be oriented any particular way (positive and negative), which is why the switches are not labeled as + or -. Switches can be wired either way and they will work the same.

Hope this helps.

Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR MB problem

if you can get past the POST properly and see the drive size, nothing is wrong with the drive hardware. I think XP is seeing a previous boot sector install so try first to fdisk, format and system boot the drive. This should remove any boot sector "shadows".

My Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR MB processor does not boot up. No BIOS or POST is dispayed on the screen

Try to use working processor from your friend, If the problem still the same possible your motherboard has been damage. Ask for a warranty for the supplier.

Don't rate me Inappropriate if you don't like my solution or rate me SOLVED if this solution solved your problem. Thanks
