Unfortunately it sounds as if your flash bulb has burnt out. Although flash bulbs are made to last a very long time, this happens occasionally, just like the lights in your home go out sometimes before their expected end-of-life time and have to be replaced. Repair shouldn't be too very expensive, but instead I would suggest putting the money that you would spend for a repair towards getting a full powered external flash, such as the SB-600. This will allow you much more flexibility with your flash pictures, and will increase your flash picture quality considerably.
i have a sony cybershot DSC-W210 and just recently the flash wont work when its on any mode to take a picture it has the flash symbol on the screen flashing and the code E:91:01 underneath also flashing its takin pictures as normal just without the flash it wont let me change the settings of the flash at all
This means the flash or flash circuitry broke due to the drop. The camera will take pictures as long as the flash is not required. Only resolution is to have the camera repaired, which unfortunately may cost more than the camera is worth.
You need to insert a pin into the reset button on the bottom of the camera for about 15 secoinds and itll restart your whole camera and memory card froms scratch
..
Anyone found a soluton for this? My Ixus 700 worked fine one day, but the next the flash wont go off. The little flash icon is showing on LCD and the red eye reduction lights as well but the camera wont tae the picture!
by dropping you can damage the charging circuit of the flash unit. flash tube is the later part. it seems that the charging circuit of the camera is not working thus it hangs the camera when flash is switched on.
