Newair mod# ACP-1600E/H Series

The most amount of heat I can get out of it is 64. And the thrmostate goes to 90.

  • egwthree Dec 31, 2008

I am outside of warranty (by about 45 months) but I have the exact same problem as the first person -- my ACP-1600H unit, from Air and Water, does not get any warmer than about the mid-50s in degrees. I suspect that there was a flaw in the heating component of this model, which is probably why it's been discontinued. It's definitely supposed to be a heater, but it's not heating.

Can anybody help? Thanks: [email protected]

Because it's not a heater. Don't ask me why the thermostat goes to 90, probably because it's an import from a country with no quality control. But I haven't found any supporting literature that says it operates in anything more than cooling mode. You can split the case and see if there's a crossover valve (where three lines go into a sideways cylinder with a solenoid on one end) near the compressor which means it's a heat pump or if there's an electric heating element near the evaporator which means it's standard heating. If so, then get back to me, but if not, you only have an air conditioner.

My NewAir ACP-1400/H air conditioner freezes up. I have cleaned the filter and check the air flow. Everything seems good, but it still freezes up.

Its sounds like a refrigerant leak from the factory if you just got it. Check your warranty and call the manufacturer for repairs. Unfortunately there is no simple fix.

Loud rattle in a new newair ac-1000e bt

Buy some 1/2 thick rubber pads and put it under the unit, I am assuming it is on rollers or has feet. This should eliminate some of the problem

The Newair acp 1400h puts out a lot of heat and the manual says not to extend the exhaust hose. Is there any way to extend the hose so that I can exhaust where I want to?

The longer hose will increase the heat in the room and that is why they recommend the short hose…addition to that it may overheat…if you are going to extend the hose you must use one as the dryer hose that insulated and fire proof…let me know if that help
