How can i find out part numbers for acer aspire 3000/3610. I have a 3000 (broken screen) and a 3610 (dead) , can i swop the screen from my 3610 into my 3000?

Yes, any computer-store with a qualified technician will charge you $50 to $75 for "labour", plus about $200 for "parts", to disassemble your laptop, remove the dead screen, connect a new screen, reassemble, and test it.

I am assuming you are referring to the "back light tube"? If so they are easy to change however rarely the issue. Most likely your lcd screen is dead. Here is a step by step:

I replaced my screen on my 5570z, i purchased it off of ebay for 130.00 shipped, but make sure you check out there feedback, and make sure they have a ZERO dead pixel return policy. Some are sneaky and will not let you return it if you have less than 3 dead pixels.

A few things to try. First turn on the unit, and after it seems to have booted up (like at a windows login or something), take a flashlight and in a darkened room shine it on the screen. If you can see a picture, it means your backlight is out. Go on ebay or elsewhere online and look for an acer aspire 1690LCi backlight. Then open up your screen and replace it (there should be tutorials online for this). If you don't see an image, your screen maybe be out or have more serious problems (video card, LCD dead, etc.).

I don't see a problem with the screens it seems that they both have the same specs. The casing is where you might have an issue just check to see if all the clips and screws are in the same positions. you never know till you try

Unfortunately, there is not a way for you to just replace the screen only.

Most screens can be bought online and not necessarily from Acer. You need to get the actual part number and it might surprise you that the screen was manufactured by a different company (mostly Taiwan). You can try here or ebay.

Screens would have series numbers like 5570-4765.
