How to record DVD to VHS

I have a DVD that I made of old family photo slides and want to copy it to a VHS for a family member who does not have a DVD player. I can't figure out how to do that with my Samsung V3500 DVD/VCR combo.

Power off when inserting vhs tape

I had this problem when copying an old family vhs tape. I had to unscrew the top of the magnavox to access the vhs tape. Then, I gently removed the tape and replaced the cover. After winding the tape back, I put it in the player and immediately pushed fast forward for about 3 seconds before hitting play followed by d.dubbing. I was able to make a copy of the tape and did not damage my original.

Can I record multiple dvd's after I have recorded from one vhs tape

You might consider after making the first if your computer is capable of making fast copies with it.

Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

My JVC DR-MV150B plays prerecorded VHS tapes fine.

Try opening the front hatch of the tape by pressing the small, square button on the right or left (short) side of the tape. Check the black tape inside for any marks, dirt, scratches, tears, etc. If the tape is fine then your unit needs to be cleaned with a tape cleaner available at any electronics specialty or retail store. Good luck to you!

Copy from vhs to dvd- want to speed process ???

I'm afraid, VHS tape have to be playback on standard speed for good picture and sound and dvd would also burn accordingly.
Noo way for fast dubbing because VHS tape video is analog signal that changed into digital signal in circuits to write on dvd disc.
I hope you understand how this dubbing works.

I just bought a Magnavox ZV450MW8A DVD/VCR Recorder. It has recording capabilities on both the DVD and VCR components but can you tell me if I can use it to record FROM the VCR directly onto the DVD? This...

Yes, you can, I have this unit and have actually copied a dvd to a vhs and then copied back to a dvd as I wanted a dvd copy to give a friend. The directions in the book are really quite simple. They tell you how to set the vhs to the spot where you want to start copying, etc.

I have not yet tried copying my family vhs tapes, but don't see a problem, just a big project. Good luck.

Need to copy VHS to DVD. I have a Go Video DVR4200 model

The name of the GoVideo DVR4200 is a bit misleading. It is NOT a "DVR". It will only record DVD ->VCR and any "protected" DVD will not record. There are some hacks out there for this unit but be careful because some of them have been known to kill the DVD player.

The 4200 has been out for quite some time as I had bought one for a family member some years ago.

Unable to read on computers

I would just get a USB video capture device. This will connect to the USB port on your computer and will connect to the video and audio out on your VCR. Basically you will be recording your VHS tape with your computer so it will be on your computer in the proper format. This will eliminate the frustration you have been having with unrecognizable formats. These devices come with there own software and its pretty simply to use. I also see that the price has come down on these devices. I bought one a year ago and was around $ 70. Now you can find one for around $ 20. Here is a link which has a bunch of them for sale. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=usb+video&x=15&y=22

I hope I have been of some help.
