I also have an Amana french Door fridge with the same problem.(no cooling in fridge-frost in freezer) The service repairman already replaced the jazz board once. This is the third time I've had this fridge repaired for the same problem in less than 2 years. I think part of my problem is the repairman not knowing how to diagnose it. He wants me to spend another $150-200 for another jazz board.(1st repair) He is telling me they've upgraded them in the last couple years 3 maybe 4 times and they are working better now.(can anyone verify this?) The second time he diagnosed it as a bad fan. We replaced that and the fridge quit working again in 2 months. Each time I unplugged it and allowed it to defrost, and when I plugged it back in it worked fine. Temporarily, anyway. My first question is: Is there a diagnosis code for the jazz board to determine anything other than forced defrost function? If so, what else can be diagnosed? Second, the fridge has an icemaker and water dispenser that i have not hooked up yet. Could this in any way be affecting the unit to malfunction?
thanks, Dee
You have a problem here
you need to get the secondary defrost kit installed
it is not the jazz board
unless he is not programming it right aftwer install
but check your back wall for frost
if you have frost you have an airflow issue
whats happening is the door is being left ajar even a 1/16 gap is an issue
when hot air enters the unit fromn the gap it condenses on the diverter behind the freezer wall
after a few weeks it builds up enought o cause problems
there is a kit you can get that will divert electrical heat to the diverter and keep it warm enough to defrost it there by never having the issue again
