32" Flat screen Poloroid hdtv . srceen went black, no sound. Can this be fixed.

when you turn tv on, its all black but when you shine ligh, you can see Poloroid

Yep! If under the 1 year warranty get it in right away. If out of warranty then it's possibly a power supply issue. Probably a $100 to 200 dollar repair.

Screen went black with a couple vertical colored lines

Check the tcons connections ( both flex cables and also the LVDS cable) if that doesnt solve it would suspect the Tcon as being defective. For further assistance please respond to this same post.

My flat screen Poloroid TV went black, it hissed and cloud of gas or smoke escaped from the back of the TV and now I have no picture just sound. Is it dead?

No troubleshooting needed for this issue. Check the tv's warranty then call the manufacturer to get this tv replaced or fix. If tv's out of warranty you still need to call the manufacturer to ask where is the closest Service center that can fix your tv.

Black screen

the problem is on the backlight of your LCD tv..it is a cold cathode lamp..with a power supply of 12- 24 vdc.the ballast of the cold cathode is deffective need a replacement...

what brand is it and the model number, the brands support can probably only fix it by shipping it california as thats probably where the repair centre is.
