I am having problems with my Westinghouse LCD TV. When i 1st turn it on, everything is fine but after a couple minutes I lose picture. The audio is fine and continues on. I unplug the tv from the outlet and plug it in to get a picture again but after a couple minutes the same problem occurs. What is wrong with my tv? Any quick fixes?

No quick fixes. A component such as a capacitor is heating up and failing. Sometimes a cracked solder connection will work fine until it heats up and no longer sustains the connection.

When the screen goes off, shine a very bright flashlight at the screen to see if the image is still there. In many cases, the problem is the screen backlight, which consists of several CCFL tubes (fluorescent lamps) and a circuit board called the inverter (similar to a lamp ballast).

If the image is there, but the backlight is off, then you just may need a new inverter board.

How do I repair our Samsung LCD Television? I would really appreciate an answer ASAP. Where will my answer appear for my review.

Don't know what service provider you have, free to air, satellite, cable or what? Try feeding the TV another signal and see what it does. Play recorder movie from DVD, or if you have a VCR around even try that. If it plays the DVD etc, with no issues, then TV is not the problem, most likely the cable box, satellite box etc, could be as simple as a bad cable connection at the house, a splitter or street box. Eliminate all the simple things first, then look at the TV.

The picture goes blank after about 3 or 4 minutes. I have to shut it off and wait a few seconds and turn it back on. It does this 3 or 4 times and then it seems to stay on.

Westinghouse LTV-37w2 loses picture

Hello, you are getting some signs that your inverter boards on this unit are going to go out. By the sounds of the problem you could have a loose cable in the master or the slave inverter, or it is just an indication that one of the two is about to give out with in the near future. You can find these parts by visiting www.shopjimmy.com.

My Westinghouse 36 inch TV has picture and sound when I turn it on but when I change channels, the picture disappears and I have only sound. The picture comes back if you turn the TV off and back on but...

Hello, it sounds like your inverter board is goin out on the set, when you change channels if you notice on almost any TV the screen goes dark and the new channel appears, it sounds like you are not getting enough power out of the inverter board to power up the backlight enough to come on. This is why the sound remains because everything else works fine and the sound is connected to the main board.

Westinghouse 32 in LCD TV

I have had this problem now for about six months with my Niko OPT-3211W. After replacing the Inverter card, VIT70002.00 as suggested nothing changed. I then read that it may be a couple of capacitors in the power supply, but I do not have the skills needed to replace them, nor do I want to pay to fix it. The solution is simple... turn on the TV and wait two to five minutes, then turn off the main power. I suggest using a power strip. Then turn the power back on in two to five seconds. The TV will come back on and it works great from then on. I thought that it was a freak thing, but it keeps working.
