My grand kids play around with both the remote and t.v., and got both scwewd up. Now I want to know how to reset this remote so I can watch t.v., and movies in my bedroom. I tryed to fine out on the enternet, but it answered every thing but that. Codes are both device (that you are trying to control) as well as remote dependant. A code for a RCA univ. remote won't necessarily work with a Sony univ. remote.
You need to review the manual that came with your remote control, and see if the code is listed. If it isn't, try cycling through all the codes (again, see manual for instructions) to see if there is one that is compatible (but not necessarily exact). If this doesn't work, then the universal remote isn't appropriate for your TV. Sorry to disappoint.
