It may well be some form of virus or spyware.

It may also be that you have too many applications running at once eg. lots of toolbars and instant message typ programs.

It can also happen on graphic intensive applications.

You should rule out nasty stuff first.

MBAM !

for a free one its pretty darned good !

From a CLEAN computer download and put on a flash drive.

Copy to your DESKTOP on the suspec computer.

Run it but dont change any options just use what it offers.

When its done let it clean anything it finds.

Its where I always start with an infected machine.

As for antivirus AVOID Norton or Mcafee but try the AVG FREE version MBAM should clean up without buying

Only continued use would require purchase As for too many applications that would be up to you to decide what you REALLY need and dont. Most toolbars are a waste of both time and space and can hog computers down. Maybe a good clean up is in order ?

It may just be a "leaking application"

These are badly coded programs that dont release memory when they should and just keep taking more to do the same job.

May I suggest you download
"hijackthis"

It is a program that can make a report on what you have running in such a way that you can post that information to certain sites and experts there will look at it.

They will then give you reccomendations as to how you can remove programs or fix some issues that may be upsetting your computer.

Dont post the log here but follow the nstructions and help the program offers to send it to one of the sites it will offer you.

If you understand startup lists you may even be able to spot som things yourself that you dont want to run and disable them from hijack this.

My pc is slow run

TRY THIS :-
Free up disk space. A hard drive that is close to being full will drastically slow down your computer. You can clear up space by deleting temporary internet files, empty your recycle bin, remove programs that you do not use, put important files on an external hard drive.
Another way to free up disk space is to use "Disk Cleanup" on your Windows PC. To do this, click "start" and go to "Accessories", go to "System Tools", and click "Disk Cleanup".
Scan for Viruses, Adware, and Spyware. These nasty programs can slow down your computer worse than anything. I would recommend purchasing software that can remove all three of these common problems.
Don't automatically start up programs when you turn your computer on. Close any programs that you do not use that open when you start up your computer. These programs will run in the background and steal RAM (Random Access Memory).

A Security Central adware/scareware has infected my windows xp and will not allow download fixes. I am told microsoft offers a free service takeover remote repair and clean up. Being computer illiterate,...

The only spyware removal service that Microsoft offers free is a Trial of OneCare or the free Windows Defender.

To self remove this, your best bet is to reboot in safe mode. To do this reboot the computer, tap F8 after your logo screen but before the windows logo screen. Select Safe mode with networking. Download www.superantispyware.com and update it. then run and see if that solves your problem.

Microsoft offers no support for their products if the product was purchased through a computer manufacturer like Dell, Acer, Gateway, Emachine, etc.

Sir, my operating system is xp, but this system has been restarting from since 3 months.. i dont knw what is problem

When your computer repeatedly restarts itself it's usually a virus, or some form of bad adware and/or spyware. Run a good virus scan, I recommend McAfee and I beleive the website has a free online scanner and a free trial offer. McAfee is capable of detecting viruses, adware and spyware. www.mcafee.com

How can I get rid of CA parental control? I never set it up!

AntiSpyware 2008 is a rogue anti-spyware program from the developers as Antivirus 2009. This program is advertised through misleading and deceptive web sites that pretend to be malware scanners that find infections on your computer They do this to scare you into thinking your infected, even though a web site can't possibly know this, in the hopes that you will download and install the AntiSpyware 2008 program. If you decide to install it, the program will scan your computer and come back with a list of security risks found on your computer that you cannot remove unless you first purchase a license of the software. It is important to remember that these people are preying on your fear and for the most part you do not have the infection they say you do.

Slow system how do I check my system

That's a somewhat vague question but first start off with a virus scan and an adware/spyware scan. I personally like Spybot Search & Destroy. (http://security.kolla.de) Install it and run a full scan and remove anything that it comes up with. Make sure you have the Backup option checked first, just in case. This should show you any background processes or services that belong to potentially malicious programs. In the utilities for Spybot you are also given tools to stop specific programs and services from automatically starting up when you boot your computer.

After you've taken those steps, delete your temporary internet files, then close out of everything and run Disk Defragmenter (Start > Run > dfrg.msc > Defragment). Additionally make sure that you have plenty of space on your hard drive available. If you're able to defragment though, that's a given.

If, after all this, your computer is still running slow, let me know and I'll try to offer additional help.

Good luck!

TROJAN HORSE

Trojan horse virus' can be very tricky to get rid of sometimes. AVG is one of the best out there for this but sometimes it cannot do it all. It just depends on what kind of virus it is. First of all, run a complete scan with "Spybot Search & Destroy". It is a free spyware removal tool. Make sure the dat files are up to date on all of these cleaners. The run a scan usin "AdAware". It is a free adware removal tool. Then after both of them have run, run a complete virus scan again with AVG. Most virus' out there now are in the form of spyware and adware and are downloader trojans. They download files in the background without your knowledge and really lag your computer. You will also get lots of pop ups while surfing the internet. I hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out?
