I have a Kalimar tripod, model CE-3, K-492. The 6'', or so, handle on the top plate broke off inside the threaded portion while I was trying to loosen it. The tripod is now useless as far as trying to mount a camera on the top plate. Would appreciate any repair/replacement advice. Lou Ritchie

or contact the manufacturer. Tripod parts are pretty hard to find. Its not worth it for the companies to sell parts, plus many companies have folded due to the loss of film cameras and now digitlal SLR sales are drying up.

Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod.
