U4-2 code on xerox 5320 copier. Is it the thermistor? Can I replace it and how? Thanks.

  • edztshirts Oct 09, 2009

The U4-2 code has been displayed for months now and I cannot do anything but to turn off the copier. Is there a way to fix it myself? The parts are online. The fuser or the thermistor, I just don't know which to replace. The code definition states that the fuser is "low."

Hi, It's a fuser (heat roller) fault. Short answer is no, it's a tech replacement. The U4-2 is usually tied to fusers overheating so try turn off and allow it to cool for half an hour then start up again and see will it clear.. How did that work?

Hi,

Yeah, the U4 codes are from the fuser unit.. And no, it's not a user replaceable part..
I'd take it to any half decent printer repair place and see what they say. The 5320 is pretty old so I don't know what the current availability of spares is like..

Why ar m201 sharp copier shows error h2 00

it means that the thermistor in the fusing unit is open

which could indicate that it may have become faulty or is because of power fluctuations, a simple crop 14 reset should remove the error, but if it returns it should be looked at by a qualified sharp technichian

HOW CAN I SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF SHARP AR-5320 THE DIGITAL APPER H THEN 2 THEN H THEN 2

'H2' indicates a problem with the thermistor (temperature sensor) in the fuser unit.

You can try resetting the code using the following key sequence:

C, [Pause key], 0, [pause key] - You need to press these keys in sequence within 5 seconds.

The display will change. Enter 14 then press the copy button.

The machine will then reboot.

Hopefully the machine will now work. If the code comes back make sure that the fuser unit is properly inserted. Check that there is no jammed paper blocking the connector. Locate the Thermistor and check that it is not damaged (hard toner can build up on it causing damage).

Hope this helps.

H2 Error

You have a thermistor open. That means that the device that reads the temperature in the fusing unit, has broken. You will need to replace the fusing unit to fix this problem. You could try a Sim 14 reset. Push P * C * then 14 then Start (the button you use to make copies) and it should reset the code. If not then replace the fuser.
