It looks like the winder/time setting knob has come off the post it was attached to. The watch has stopped and there is nothing I can do to get it going again. what happened and how can I get it fixed?

The parts you are referring to are the stem and crown. on most watches once remove it cuts the power so u can set. take it to a jewelry store. the parts are inexpensive and most store with a desent shop can replace them

Testimonial: "Thanx, have done as suggested. I'll get it back tomorrow."

How to set time on m.z. berger wrist watch

Hi Hollywoo,
As far as I can see Berger watches all have what I would call a winder knob. You normally pull this out gently and then turn it to move the hands of the watch - ie: to set the time. When finished just push it back in.

How do I set my Invitation 11286 chronograph?

Just gently pull the winder knob fully outwards and you should feel one or more clicks. Each of these clicks is associated with a different function. So, select one of these click positions and turn the winder clockwise and see what happens. Then turn it anticlockwise and see what it does. Then repeat for each of the click positions.

I've also looked online but had no luck.

Watch Winder Setting & Instructions for Executive Collection

  • There are four modes for our Executive Collection of Watch Winders (TM and SM series):

Mode 1 (both switches with the O pressed in): rotates for 180 seconds on then 12 minutes off.
Mode 2 (first switch with the O pressed in, second switch with the I pressed in): rotates 180 second on then 15 minutes off.
Mode 3 (first switch with the I pressed in, second switch with the O pressed in): rotates 180 seconds on then 18 minutes off, then 180 seconds in the opposite direction.
Mode 4 (both switches with the I pressed in): rotates 180 seconds on then 24 minutes off.

    For switching winding direction:
I pressed in will wind clockwise
II pressed in will wind counter clockwise
Neither pressed in will turn the winder off

*Please note that the CW and CCW settings do not apply when the winder is set to Mode 3 as this mode winds in both directions.

Need to set the hands to correct time

Should be a "winder" knob on the side that you can pull out.

Ladies quartz watch stem winder knob lost lost how to remove from another to fix it?

mcdevito75 here, Best bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for another knob. As long as the stem is in place you just need the winding knob.

My Cartier Roadster does not keep time in my watch winder, all other brands work except this one. Any idea why, should the winder be set at clockwise, counter-clockwise, or bi-directional.

I believe the Roadster uses the 2892 movement and as such should wind in either direction. Find a competent watchmaker and ask him/her to check the automatic winding mechanism for proper rotation. I am assuming this is a real Cartier.

How do I set the time on the watch? The knob on the side doesn't seem to pull out.

On some watches the winder needs to be turn anticlockwise about a quarter of the turn before pulling it out.

This is to increase the water resistance of the case.

How do i set the time on my luminox 8100

I was unable to find any instructions on the Luminox web site but I suggest you try the following:

Screw the winder anticlockwise ( to release it) and the pull the winder out. I would expect to find two "out" positions, one for the time and one for the date setting.

After setting the watch push the winder home and screw it back in.

Help setting the time

Tags have a screw down crown (winder knob) turn the knob counter clock-wise until you feel the crown unscrew (not off) then pull the crown carfully. It will pop once this is for date adjust. Then pull once more and you can now adjust the hands, set accordingly then push crown back in. After you push it back in gently compress the crown and tighten clockwise until it stops. CAUTION!!!!!!! Tags are not waterproof if the crown is not screwed back down. I hope this helps I am actually a car guy (just happen to own a couple)

Adjust the date and day on a festina 3 dial watch

I've just worked it out! Change month....depress inset button on side above hand winder. One push with cocktail stick or similar will advance month. Change date.....pull out hand winder half way, turn knob anti-clockwise until desired number is met. Change day...... pull out hand winder fully, turn clockwise passing midnight repeatedly until day is set, continue to set time, keeping an eye on 24 hour display for am/pm.
All the best, Bob
