Okay, the driver for the scanner (hal.dll) needs to be reinstalled.

Do the following:

Press the windows key and R
Type in command
In the command prompt that comes up:
Type in cd C:\Windows\System32\
Type in taskkill /f /im "hal.dll"
Type in del hal.dll
Then restart your computer

What taskkill does is kill the scanner application that is using the driver so you can delete it. After your system restarts, Windows will automatically reinstall the scanner driver, and the problem will be fixed!

You have to purchase a new one from Magix. The cd is critical for the whole program to work properly. Sometimes is has to be in the CD player to get certain features to work properly.

In the C drive Navigate to View menu and choose option "Details"
Now you can see the Created Date for specified files so that you can check which files are older / newer

Try to reinstall the problem or repair it. Maybe it works, but if not, it maybe not ba compatible to your Operating System or you got a fake serial number. If it is it, try to call your dealer so it can fix your problem.

Don't worry about this message, it may be something you have uninstalled recently and the ".dll" file(direct link library) is still in the registry for start up. Obviously 'Softex' is the software, so if your'e not familiar with this it may be a spyware programme that has been removed or needs removing, but is still in your start up. If you download this http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/programme (it's excellent,it's free and has no spyware)you can easily see what programmes are starting up and remove if necessary and you are able to clean and check your programmes for lost links etc. If you know of the programme and have uninstalled it by accident re install the software or try a system restore to the point before this started.
