JBL is obviously just putting their name on your product. Just the way it is. They put their name on it, but use inferior parts. It is cheaper for JBL to have other folks make the stuff.

I have a AVR130 Audio/video receiver,JBL separate ubwoofer 140/230, 4 JBL satellite speakers one center peaker. Kindly explain the connections to get the listening pleasure

Connect #1 JBL Speaker to the Front Left, #2 to Front Right, #3 to Right Rear, #4 to Left Rear, the center speaker to center and the subwoofer to sub out. This will give you dolby surround sound and individual sounds through-out the entire room like the movie theatre.

12 inch sub(JBL) in box with a 500 watt pioneer amp, sounds good with some types of base. would you cut a port hole in speaker box?

riverray1969 it would help if I knew the exact model number of that JBL sub you are referring to. With that info I can provide exact specs.

Basically, you need to build/modify an sub enclosure that is suited for the sub, the music you mainly play, and vehicle tuning. Generally, sealed enclosures will provide tighter bass response and get decently loud. Some would argue that it will give you greater sound quality. A ported enclosure will give you a louder more booming sound. That depends also on where the port is tuned (ex. 32 hz, 36 hz, etc ). You need to make sure that the enclosure meets the sub's airspace requirement as well. A customized well made enclosure is just as important as the sub you put in it.

How do I wire up my jbl w12 to positive an negative

Hi Adrian,
To be honest, it depends on your amp, also on whether this is a dual voice coil sub or a single.

As a rule, if the sub has a dual voice coil (2 sets of connections) then connect the 2 positives together and the 2 negatives and run the 2 sets of cables to one output on the amp.

Check your amp specs to make sure that it will run @ 2 Ohms as this is what will result.

If your amp isn't 2 Ohms stable then you will have to wire each voice coil to a separate output on the amp.

JBL amp, worked fine untill 2 days ago. protection light on..

might have roasted your speakers voice coils a little which may be sending the amp into protect mode throw a speaker on it that you know works and if it doesnt trigger the protect circuit then you probably have a blown or almost sub.

How to connect the wires of jbl sub 145

what kind of conections do you have on the back of the sub you should either have RCA connections or just one RCA connection or a place for speaker wire to plug directly into it. IF you have RCA connections in back i would use those they will connect directly to your system if your system had and a sub pre out on it read your manual and follow those instructions as well it will help

Hi,just bought a 6x9 jbl gto937 speakers for my car, each speaker is 100watt rms and 300 max .Can anybody advice on what amplifier should i get for them?I know i can run them without any amp but think they...

Pyramid makes the PB series of amps. I have one that's driving a Sub.
The PB 700 puts out rms 60watts x 2 @ 2ohms, which gives you some "headroom" for your speakers. You don't want to over drive speakers with , for example, a 1000 watts for 100 watt speakers, because that's a good way to blow your speakers.
There are many brands and models of amps that will fit your speakers. Just make sure the amp will drive 2ohm speakers, since your jbl's are rated at 2ohm impedance.
You may want to consider adding a Sub woofer to your setup. A single Sub would fill in the low end very nicely. If you got a 4 channel amp, then two channels will drive your jbl's, and you can bridge the other two channels to drive the Sub. That would be a kick'n sound!
Just make sure the amp is bridgeable
For example, the Pyramid PB 1200 is a 4 channel, bridgeable amp. This particular amp will drive the 2ohm jbl's, but you would want a 4 or 8 ohm Sub connected to the bridged channels.

Jbl subwoofer

There is actually some good news.  I had this problem with my PB10s (1 have 2 PB10s and 2 PB12s) It is one of 2 things, the first is that it could be a capacitor and resister combination on the amplifier board (which was the fix for our PB10 with the same problem), or 2nd, the AMP IC, which is not available for the PB12. hmmm
