Unbearable, high-pitched noise at highway speed

We are experiencing an unbearable, high-pitched whistling noise on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe... seems to come from the passenger side only, near where the dash meets the windshield/passenger door... we have taped up all cracks, moved the roof rack around, etc. and nothing has made it any better. Anyone else have ideas or a solution? We have had this vehicle for two months, and I'd love nothing better than to give it back!!

We've tried going back to the dealership - they are the ones who suggested trying to tape the cracks. Very disappointed with their lack of problem resolution.

There is normally only one crankshaft sensor, maybe 2 camshaft sensors, one for each bank, and there are two O2 sensors for each bank.

When driving at speed i get a loud whine/shriek from rear driver side wheel, when breaks are applied noise goes. (disc ?) new discs fitted 3 years ago.

the brake pads have a wear indicator as the pads wear the indicator will tuch the brake rotor and make a high pitch shriek, so you need new brake pads.

I have a 2001 Santa Fe. I recently had the septintine belt replaced and the transmission fluid changed. Since then the vehicle sounds louder than what it used to be with the noise increasing while highway...

Did you fill it up with the recommended tranny oil ?

If your noise is a low pitch rumble that gets louder the faster you go, it likely is a wheel bearing that is the cause. Another sign that the noise is from a wheel bearing is if the noise tends to get louder when steering one direction at a steady speed, and quieter when steering the other direction. A transmission noise does not change with the steering.

HIgh pitched sound when accelerating w/ My 2007 Hyundai santa fe

This may sound strange but have someone check out your radio system. Sometimes an antenna wire or wires, when jared loose will make that ear piercing noise. It may not be the problem but it's worth looking into.

what kind of noise? if rattling noise and noiser when you accelerate, either in idle position or while moving, then you need to overhaul. if high pitch sound and noiser when you accelerate, then check you bearing in timing belt mechanism
