The handle of the lid cracked off. how do i replace the lid?

The handle on my lid also cracked and broke in two. I had some glass lids that came with a set of cookware given to me as a gift. I used the cookware but seldom used the lid to the smallest pot. The lids had heavy duty knobs on top that were just screwed on. I unscrewed the knob & just screwed it on to my crockpot lid, being careful not to tighten it too tight and to include the gasket & washer that were on the other lid. I've been using it with no problems for over a year, and it's much stronger than the original knob that came on the lid. Hope this helps someone!

For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.

Wow, this must be a common problem. I have only used mine a few times and already the knob on the lid is broke off.
