my TV does the same thing. It'll turn off for a second and turn back on but without the volume. I thought it was just my TV but I guess its a technical problem.

Tv will not power

Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected to a working wall outlet. If plugged into a power strip or surge protector, unplug the power cord and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the TV turns on, the issue is with the power strip or surge protector

Sony KDL 46HX820 turns on, then off and red light blinks four times.

Re: Bravia KDL46EX720. Red LED blinks 4 times and TV wont turn on. What is the problem?

Do a Power Reset.

1. Turn off the TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.

If the issue still persists after performing power reset, that may be an indication that the TV needs service. You may refer to this link to locate the nearest Sony authorized service center in your area.

Pc turns it self on by it's self

Make sure the power button isn't sticking at all. If it is sticking then use some glass cleaner on a cotton swab and clean around the button.
Try plugging the computer directly into a wall outlet instead of a surge protector or power strip to rule out a faulty product.
If the same thing keeps happening then you'll need to replace the power supply.

We had lighnting storm pass by and our TV was plugged into a surge protector along with many other devices. When the storm passed the TV will not turn on anymore.

Likely, the surge protector failed.

Depending on the manufacturer, you may have some sort of warranty available. That is, the manufacturer of the surge protector may reimburse you for the cost of TV repairs.
But foremost, try plugging the TV directly into the wall. It could be that the socket or surge protector were fried, but your TV is ok.

That wall outlet may have frequent surges so try another wall outlet see if it turns back on. If it turns on be sure to use a surge suppressor and never plug the TV directly into the wall outlet. The AC surges will kill the power supply of the TV in short time. See if there's a kill-switch near the ac adapter of the TV if there is turn it on.Get a surge protector/suppressor then try plugging it back in the wall. If still no power then the power board is already damaged, you can send the board too me and I'll repair it for you or seek your local repair center.

Hello tsaucier, my name is MichaelHurst with DISH Network. Is your receiver plugged directly to the wall outletor to a surge protector/power strip? Unplug the DISH receiver for 10 secondsand plug back in. (It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to becompleted). Ifthereceiver is currently plugged into a surge protector, bypass the surgeprotector and plug the receiver directly into a wall outlet. If you are stillhaving issues try another outlet. If this doesn't remedy the issue then thereceiver will have to be replaced.

Turn on tv and standby light flashes 6 times

The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue.

Follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
  1. Turn off the television.
  2. Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the TV is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the TV.
  5. Turn on the television. NOTE: If the TV does not turn on immediately, the fan may need to finish its cycle. This is part of the cooling process for some projection TVs and is normal operation. After the fan turns off, attempt to turn the TV on again.

If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required . Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

Sony Grand WEGA KF42WE610 42" turns on and off

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

Please make sure that the videos sources are connected properly to the TV.

Try Power Resetting the TV.

Please disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet (for approximately 1 minute), then reconnect the power cord and check whether the issue is resolved.

Also try connecting the TV to a different wall outlet and check if that helps.

Surge protector shuts off while playing PS3

swap to another surge protector. if it still does it, it is a power surge at the outlet, if it does not, the Surge Proctector has worn out. have someone with the appropriate knowlege have a look at the outlet as well. older outlets especially tend to wear to the point where the plug literally falls out of the wall.

No power

Unplug the tv press power on and plug it back in.
some of these units have a reset clearly marked on the back.
connect direct to wall as the surge protector may now have issue.
