According to Microsoft, the ZR90 is compatible with Vista 32 and 64 bit:

https://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=ZR90&v=Canon&uid=ZR90&pf=3&pi=7&c=Cameras%20%26%20Photo&sc=Camcorders&os=32-bit

Try clicking on "free download required" on the above page; it's probably the driver update.

I want to connect a Canon ZR 800 using firewire to my MacBook Pro.

To connect your Canon ZR 800 camcorder to your MacBook Pro using a Firewire connection, you will need a Firewire cable and a Firewire port on your computer. Here are the steps you can follow to connect your camcorder to your MacBook Pro:
  1. Locate the Firewire port on your MacBook Pro. It is usually located on the side or back of the computer and is marked with a symbol that looks like a small lightning bolt.
  2. Connect one end of the Firewire cable to the Firewire port on your MacBook Pro.
  3. Locate the Firewire port on your Canon ZR 800 camcorder. It is usually located on the side or back of the camcorder and is marked with a symbol that looks like a small lightning bolt.
  4. Connect the other end of the Firewire cable to the Firewire port on your camcorder.
  5. Turn on your camcorder and set it to playback mode.
  6. Open the video editing software on your MacBook Pro and choose the option to import video from a Firewire device.
  7. Follow the prompts in the software to import the video from your camcorder.
I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Canon zr 45mc driver for windows 7

Downloading Video from Canon ZR45MC video camera by itoknowu

Canon provides Windows Vista-compatible software and drivers (link) that should be installed in order to facilitate the connection. Some makes/models will 'just work' while others require the extra install first.

My Canon Powershot S1 is is not detected by the Laptop (concted via USB). Is it a driver problem.

If it was just a driver problem you'd see a little icon on your taskbar. Depending on your OS it might already have generic USB drivers for your camera.
Looks to me like a USB cable or camera problem.

Does canonZR950 have a DV- In ? (Is a DV port always a I/O port)

This is incredible - I didn't know such a thing existed - but it does appear that the DV port on that camcorder is bidirectional, so it will serve as an input when connect to a source with a DV out. Very nice!

A lot, of course, will also depend on your endoscopic camera. I have seen endoscopic cams that would definitely be compatible with your Canon. But I saw a particular JVC endoscopic cam that would not be compatible. What is the model/manufacturer of the endoscopic cam?

Here is a copy of the manual for the Canon:

Have a sony DCR-TRV103..trying to upload video to my laptop using a USB cable...but the laptop does not recognize the camera..and I can't find any drivers? Any ideas?

You can't do this with USB. You need special cord - 1394 IEEE adapter on one end, and a DV adapter on the other (camera)end. This fits into slot on front of camera under and to the left of the microphone.

yes, I found the manual downloads on Canon's webpage. I wish I could figure out how to transfer my tape videos to a computer. I bought the $50,00 DV-1394 cord and nothing happens--computer doesn't recognize the camera.
