Yamaha clavinova cvp-83s

I have a similiar problem, a couple of days ago my beloved clavinova made an awful noise suddenly (after it had been switched on for some time), and so I put it off using the power switch (button). Now when I put it on again, the boxes omit a creacking sound, which gets louder and if the clavinova is left on.

    Hi Rebecca Wright,
It turned out some of the capacitors on the circuitboard were leaking, I called a yamaha dealer and had them fix it for me. Good luck!

Thanks for that answer Guus - do you have any idea how much it cost? I'm wanting to sell it for an upright 'traditional' piano so would give me an indication of whether to take a trade in at a lower price because of the fault of fix it and sell it privately.

Hi, did you manage to sort your problem as the same thing has happened to my clavinova (same model). Thanks.

Hi Rebecca, I think it was about EUR 100,- (= about $130 USD), but it all depends on your dealer ofcourse.. I guess you can always email your local yamaha dealer and ask them..

Thank you. I'll find the email or phone them.

Anyone knows what could happen or if there is a chance to be repaired?

Hello, Magda -

Only an authorized Yamaha digital piano (Clarinova) service technician can answer your question regarding a chance of repairing your piano.

If you have not already done so, you can locate an authorized service technician here:

Can I replace the pedal unit to the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75?

I can't solve the problem, but just wanted to sympathize because I have the same problem. My pedal is broken on my Yamaha Clavinova cvp85a. It worked wonderfully for years but finally it broke.
I'd be in the market for buying a new pedal or fixing the old one. But I've not found any suggestions in any of these forums for either solution.
