The lamp is accessed removing a panel on the back right side. If there are no lights at all it may not be the lamp but the power supply (no fuses inside).

I took the back of the tv off and the blue lamp is not bright like the red and green. Could this be a coolant problem or lamp. I have the PT5492S Akai rear projection TV.

The blue is usually dimmer than the other two lens; what I would suggest is try to look into the lens with the set on; BE CAREFUL AND NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE THE SET.

If the red and green show a picture but the blue looks like a floodlight you have bad Glycol in the blue tube (common in these sets).

If all have a normal picture remember to wipe the lens clean at the top; do not try to take the lens etc apart.

Before you rate this information let me know what you find.

Posted a short while ago but have more information Mitsubishi DLP WD 52725 - sound no picture - blinks 3 short times and 1 long time

have you checked the lamp? with those models they will power up and if the lamp is bad you can hear audio until the tv shuts off. the lamp is located in the front behind the speaker grill assembly. if the "status" light is blinking then you are having a fan failure if the "lamp" light is on then check the lamp like i listed above.

Hi I have TV AKAI start projecting a red

rear projection tv can be crt or dlp, if crt, try to adjust red color using the customer convergence feature, you will find it in the customer menu usually under advance feature or video settings, some tvs will just give the convergence caption right on the menu listing. If this does not help then the tv might be in need of some convergence circuit repair, probably one of the power outs is damages and needs to be replaced. If it is a dlp if the red shade extends all over the screen or located in a certain area of the screen then i would have the tech check for light engine trouble, this is a common problem on some dlp systems.if i answered your question satisfactorily please leave your positive feed back. thanks

AKAI Rear Projection 46"TV has a blank picture with sound only

Hello,

Is it a CRT or a DLP/LCD projector? If not a CRT, a worn-out projection lamp can cause this symptom. When it is a DLP projector, a faulty Colour Wheel sensor can be the additional problem. If it is a CRT projection unit the High Voltage and deflection circuit must be examined...

Please tell me more about your unit...

Akai PT50DL24 50 in DLP Rear Projection TV-NO PIC OR SOUND

check for popped or raised tops on caps in power supply. also try unplugging set for 5 minutes and resetting it. How about does your color wheel spin up? if your color wheel don't startup then your tv will also shut down. also check all fans they all should be running at turn on. if all fails i would say its your light engine.
