Kohler Rialto k3402 toilet
Kohler 84499 1B1x conversion kit instructions say:
p.3 Rialto: replace the flush valve
p.6 rectangular overflow: do not need to replace the flush valve
Huh?
SOURCE: Kohler Cimmaron Toilet Flush
You might want to check the flush cylinder, to see if it has water in it. It has to be water free, that way the air in it, lets it go down easier, during fill up.
SOURCE: Toilet will not flush
It sound like you have debris caught in the fill valve. Remove the top where the washer is and put your hand over it and slowly turn the water on to flush the fill valve. Replace the washer with a new one and then replace the top.
If you have the old ball and **** style, replaceing the diaphram is harder so I would recommend replacing it with a fluidmaster fill valve. Hope this helps.

Mine does that also, here's what I found.; I am on a well and occasionaly sand gets caught in the valve thingy... Take the tank lid off, turn the arm that attaches to the float assy. 1/4 turn towards the back of the tank and take it out. Rinse off the gasket and pin as well as inside the hole. Reassemble and it should solve your problem.

if the flappper isn't closing, there is no suction AKA a clog perhaps.
SOURCE: I cannot tighten the toilet seat on my kohler 3386
Give Kohler a call AFTER you read the instructions thoroughly. Good Luck, seriously.
