I am trying to find a download for my pv-gs39 camera, the manual says I need a driver, but I don't even have a program and it did NOT come with a disk

try connecting the camera to the computer through your firewire then go to if you have windows xp click start then click on control panel, then click on printers and other hardware, then click on scanners and cameras, then below the back icon will be add an imaging device and with the camera hooked up to the computer through the fire wire and the camera turned on click the add an imaging device. then follow the prompts in the installation wizard. if this dont get your camera back on line then you will need to find the drivers and program for the camera. you might find it at the panasonic web site just check for down loads for the camera.

You are going to have to check that your firewire is being seen by windows 7 first of all. If not you will need to rectify that.
When you do get it to recognize it, here is a link for an update to the program that came with your camcorder for it to work with Windows Vista but it should also work for Windows 7.

Okay then let's start with that. Download the drivers from:

Install the drivers and you should be good to go! Let me know if you're having any problems after that.

the above link will take you RIGHT to the web page to download the PV-GS39 Software & Drivers that YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE. But if you have WINDOWS VISTA then you can use the WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER software that is ALREADY PRE-INSTALLED on your PC then you will NOT have to download the software from the above link.

2. You HAVE TO have a: FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD. I got mine at: Best Buy for: $53.86 with taxes. the name of this card is: DYNEX FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD.

3. You ALSO hae to buy the CORD that connects to the PV-GS39 and the DYNEX FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD, the cord costs $36.79 ALSO at Best Buy.

I did ALL 3 of the above and now I'm copying my movies and videos from my tape in my camcorder onto my PC and BURNING the video onto DVD/CD Disks.
