Open ports 24000-24100 on Mac OS X v.10.4.11

I want to open ports 24000-24100 on my Mac to play Scrabble online. The game at scrabulous.com is telling me to open ports 24000-24100 because I'm using a wireless connection.

System Preferences --> Network --> Sharing --> FireWall --> New --> Port name = Select "Other" and call it (for example) scrabulous --> Add the port numbers 24000-24100 in TCP and UDP ..

In the router enable UPnP --> that should help...

However preferrably you'd do a port-forwarding instead of enabling UPnP. try this and should work.you would have to access the router page and that depends on the router that you have

I purchased scrabble from Macsoft at Amazon. I downloaded the content to the Macintosh HD. When I want to open the game i receive a message that says " cannot open because you don't have power pc

It means that the version of Scrabble is NOT compatable with an Apple computer. If you still want to use it you will need to set up a drive on your Mac that you load with a Windows operating system like a Power PC has!

Can I play Scrabble on pc without Internet connection?

You should try a game that you have to download and install, for example Scrabble free.
It is a good one and it is provided at no cost. You don't need Internet connection to play it as it is just like any other PC game.

Atari Scrabble Complete has been playing well on XP for years. New computer has Windows 7 and Scrabble freezes when it begins loading. I also have BitDefender Anti-Virus installed but it does not seem to...

Unfortunately not all games will work with newer versions of Windows even with the compatibility modes. Atari Scrabble is an older game, and Atari stopped providing updates for the game some time ago. At this point your best bet is to find a version of Scrabble that is compatible with Windows 7. Microsoft has a Windows 7 Compatibility page on their site. The website address that is below lists another companies version of Scrabble that will work with Windows 7. Check out your local PC game retailers or the Internet to find and purchase a copy or search to see if there are other versions that will work with Windows 7.

Tcp port 24000-24100

I would check your router's port forwarding settings and also make sure you have those ports listed in your windows firewall exceptions list.

Try these steps:

Let me know if that helps.

Tcp port 24000-24100

Hi Sorry to hear you are having problems,
MacOS 10.4 has a firewall built into it ( Of course all MacOS X versions have firewalls ) that can have ports opened on it. You say it was working fine yesterday, did you change anything ?
Fastest and easiest way to open ALL TCP/IP ports is to turn off your FireWall for the time you are playing then re-activate it when you're done.
This can be done in the sharing pane of the System preferences, choose firewall and turn it OFF.
You could of course open just the ports 24000-24100 in the same preference pane...
But chances are it might be something else if you did not modify your system since yesterday.
Are you on the same network as yesterday? Are you able to play on another network ?

Router will not allow me to play onling games through xbox 360

If the problem has something to do with NAT firewall in your router, then you may need to open certain application ports for your XBOX in the router. You may check this link from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874 that talks about NAT firewall and XBOX live.

Hope this helps!

Opening ports would not work to play the game

Looks like others have had this problem and have fixed it by enabling UPnP on the router. I've never tried this myself as I don't play scrabulous--or other games, mostly for lack of time...

Click here for what others who have had this problem have done about it.

Good luck!

Problem with udp port

check whether the port numbers are opened for that particular game that you are trying to play
if not go to the router manager i.e. the home page of the router that you have and try to open the ports
Also known as port forwarding
if u dont know the ports that you want for a particular game
U can goto www.portforward.com and chek out the ports available for games...
