I have a TOMTOM 130 S AND ITS IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE.... HOW DO I CHANGE IT TO ENGLISH??

So you've got that brand new shiny TomTom, turned it on, and .... OOPS! ... somehow you've selected the wrong language. Suddenly the entire interface is (literally) in some foreign language and you can't figure out how to get back to English. This has happened to quite a few people recently, so here is a short tutorial on how to get back to US English.TomTom Main MenuIf the device is currently turned on and you are anywhere but the primary map/driving view, it might be helpful to turn the device off. Then you can turn it back on to get yourself to the map/driving view. Now click anywhere on the map to take you to the Main Menu. Depending on the language you picked and your device, it should look something like the image on the right. you need to reset your language to English !! tap screen then open change preferences , tap arrow to the right till you see change language , then select English uk or English usa

Your TomTom One has been set to a foreigh language: you need to change the default back to any version of English (US or UK) that is available:
It is normally done under 'Change preference' (look for Spanner image Icon) -> Scroll right Arrow until 'Change language' (look for Flags image Icon) -> Select English -> Select an English Voice
Just look for the graphic when you bring the menu up as it will be in whatever language!

Connect your device with TomTom Home and access the memory (like if it was an external disk)
Create the following 2 files without ant extension in the root:

cleanflash
runclean

It will reset your devide to the original settings.
When starting it will ask you which language you want to use.

In the menu, you should find the settings for language.

Now, If you don't speak German, this can be a problem.

If you use your computer to translate, you can do it.

Go to http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ and select the languages as required (German to English). Enter the commands you see on the TomTom, and navigate that was until you see the language settings.

After starting your TomTom , tap the screen . Scroll left or right if needed to find "preferences" . Once in Preferences , look for a 'lips' icon and it should also say underneath " Change Voice". Select that and you should be presented with a selection of voices and languages to choose from.
