This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Had similar problem with my oven.
Turn off the breaker to the oven/range and remove the panel which exposes the controls. You will probably find a burned spot on the pc board.
Mine was where a spade lug plugged a wire to the board and caused by a loose connector at that lug. I hard wired/soldered the wire to the board (new board was $200+) and the repair lasted several years.

My Jenn-air 2 year old oven and top stop working any help? please...

Hi

If your range/oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

Fuse/circuit breaker Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn on--even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Main wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the range/oven, gets burned and so breaks the connection. Then you may have to replace the power cord to the range/oven, and the terminal block that the wire is attached to.

Range/oven wiring There may be a broken or burned wire at the back of the range/oven. If you repair any of the wires, use only proper appliance-grade wire and wire connectors.

Suk92mfx5 main oven problem?

the fan element would have blown. it is not uncommon for an element to trip an rcd when it blows. you are on the right track, if you replace the element all your problems should go away

Smoke from oven

I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years sounds like pure coincidence, check the fan for circuit at terminals, and / or check for movement of blades, that you have not got fan jammed, replace fan motor unit if needed, still cheaper than a call out if i have helped rate me work with safety all the time, unplug at all times when working on any item
