Where does the HDMI cable plug into Hitachi HD1080 TV other than front?

Connect an HDMI cable from the DVD's HDMI port to an unused HDMI port on the TV. Select the input from the settings menu and name it DVD or select the DVD name. Turn the DVD player ON. You should be able to just connect the set via an HDMI cable to your DVD player for it to play. You then will have to select using the TV remote the HDMI connection the DVD is connected to.
I do not believe the TV will switch to the DVD player automatically when connected via HDMI. My TV doesn't, though it's not the same as yours.

Using a HDMI Cable would be the ideal solution, you will be able to view your laptop screen and listen to the audio your laptop on the Hitachi Flat screen TV.

The HDMI port should be on the rear of the E6500 next to the power plug.

You can purchase an HDMI cable at any electronic store or even Wal-Mart.

Compare the plug on the TV. From left to right the picture has a DVI connector, a VGA connector and a HDMI connector.

sorry to say that, your tv dosen't have a hdmi connectivity.

While Bluray pluged into the TV change the resolution from AUTO to 720P then plug Bluray back to the receiver and see if it solve your problem.

You can use the DVI connection, or the digital HD rca connections on the back. You can also get a dvi to hdmi converter plug.
