Ds cannot read my r4 card why?

no different software save your games on your pc get new card then transfer the games

You may have a bad firmware on R4, using wrong card (R4 for ds and ds lite, theres another for dsi and another for 3ds) a good firmware to use is r4 wood:

because the basic r4 for ds and ds lite doesnt get updates anymore

worse case senerio u bought a fake r4 or a faulty one

with your r4 card it may read like how it reads dvd's with a ds its like a region code. depending on what region your ds is and what ever region the r4 card is you dont get anything if they are totally different. some r4 cards usually correspond to the proper region code or close enough to it. if thats isnt the case then you have a problem with the ds card slot... i hope this was of some use :3

im guessing since you got the r4 card workin ok originally that you know how to put the r4 software back on the ard with the games? if thats the case thats good, remember its not the r4 carts that busted its the micro sd card thats inside it, get sumone to reformat the sd card through the computer, oh back up the game files first though! lol. if need more help email me at [email protected]. good luk.

you either have a naff fake card or your ds has a prob with the pins inside that read the games, if you try ur ds with another game and it works ok then its the r4 card at fault, try it few more times then try return it 4 refund, i had couple duds too thats y i use dstt cards from www.dealextreme. cost less than 5 gbp! and free delivery and all mine work. good luk.

OK, my kids have the R4, iam not sure its the Deluxe one, but they look same as yours, anyway i went and downloaded the newest version of R4 software from here

Now with the older version a lot of the games did not work, when i downloaded the newest version
(english kernel v1.18) most of them worked, and make sure you read that web page.
----- How to update R4?
After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, there will be one shell folder and two files _DS_MENU.DAT、 _DS_MSHL.NDS.Copy these files to the root directory of TF(the memory card in R4) card to replace the former files(i suggest to cut and paste old system kernel file from yours to a folder, then put the new ones in).

HI REFORMAT THE CARD FAT 32,DOWNLOAD LATEST FIRMWARE ON R4 SITE WHICH IS 1.18 VERSION, THEN PUT ON CARD SYSTEM, MOONSHL,DS MENU DAT,DS MSHL NDS,IT THEN SHOULD BE OK,UNLESS YOU HAVE THE NEW R4 CARD WHICH SUPPORTS SDHC,THEN YOU WANT VERSION 1.19.

You have to put the R4 v1.18 kernel on the memory card for it to work.

In the download section is the r4 manual follow that and you should be ok.
