Technician said we had a freon leak. Said the compressor would have to be replaced because freon had leaked out, exposing the compressor to the atmosphere. He replaced the compressor, repaired a leak near the compressor in the line, then discovered there was a leak "in the cabinet". He declared it unrepairable and told us LG should replace the refer under their 7 year, sealed system warranty. However, LG will not honor the warranty (long story).
Is this unrepairable? Should I have a different tech look at it (and spend more money) or just junk it and buy a new one (another brand)?
Thanks
SOURCE: water leaking in refrigerator on shelves, drawers, and under draw
We took the back bottom vent cover off. Clean that area of lint. We than followed the advise given to another posting of a refrigerator link. This has seemed to work for now, time will tell. However we were told most people with Haier refrigerators have problems. Thank you.
SOURCE: Refrig door gasket does not prevent gap when door is closed
Lift up the gasket and look for screws securing the gasket to the door.
Loosen all of these screws a few turns and twist the door in the direction needed to seal.
Hold the door in this position as you tighten the screws.
This can be tricky and sometimes requires multiple efforts.

The small cooling fan in the freezer compartment that sends chilled air to the food side is defective and needs replacement. Sometimes that are only frozen stuck.
When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect. If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply. Thank you.
SOURCE: The compressor motor runs for a short time then
you are suppose to have a multi meter and monitor the supply going to compressor, before the overload relay. if the voltage remains while it stop, your overload thus cutting the supply meaning it is overloaded. if the voltage is missing too, the problem is in the thermostat area.

Does this model have a motor-start capacitor? Most compressor motors won't start if the cap has failed, and the over-current will trip every time.
Sorry no good advice on the warranty repair problem.
Testimonial: "There is no capacitor but you prompted me to check the electrical side more closely. We will see. Thanks for the quick and knowlegable advice!"
