Make sure the spray arm holes are clear of debris...all of them.....if they are then there is usually something in the screen down at the pump(like plastic or glass) just make sure everything is clear of debris and that should take care of it.

After running a full cycle the dishes have a film left on them. Sometimes soap is not rinsred off the dishes. Tried different soaps for dish washers. It seems the only thing to take the film off of the...

Film on dishes post cycle is caused by 2 things.... Poor water flow during the wash / rinse cycle.... i.e clogged sump inlets or restricted drains. Clean the drain hose first. Start at the cink connection and clean EVERY connection and in-line componenet from the port hole at the sink connection all the way back to the drain hise connection port at the dishwasher.

If you still have dirty dishes post cycle after drain cleaning... then remove the lower wash arm support and clean the accumulator / sump area thoroughly. See this link: (items 1 and 4) http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5140844&diagram_id=28222738#d28222738

Test again.

If the problem persists you will have to gain access to the pump impeller. Inspect the impeller, and pump housing for damage. UNDER the dishwasher. Item 22 of the above link.

This should get your diswasher performing properly again.

I used this model number as a reference: GU2400XTPB1

Bosch Diswasher

Remove the drain hose and check if you have any residual into it. After 11 years your appliance may need a thourought cleaning.
Check also if the pump has enough pressure.

Our integrated dishwasher takes on water but the tablet does not disolve. The dishes are not clean after the cycle but they are hot.The water empties.

Buy a Finish diswasher cleaning kit from the supermarket and run the dishwasher with it. Follow the instructions on the label of the kit. Use one of the long wash cycles on the dishwasher so that temperature reaches above 60deg C.

Also provide the make and model number of the dishwasher.

Diswasher used to get dishes clean. now there are spots, film and food remnants on dishes after cycle completed. The dishes look awful

Check taht the detergent is getting dispensed and the water is hot and you can hear the water spraying.

ALSO refill the dispenser for the liquid sheeting such as JetDry. That is usually in the door with a twist out plug. It usually lasts 6 months or so.depending on the use.

Dishes still dirty after wash cycle

It would be real helpful to have you provide the manufacterer and model number to get more specific with solution.
-Have you changes dishwasher soap powder recently? Buy a box of Electrosol or Cascade and see what happens. The ultracheep versions actually have caused cleaning problems, especilly in water-conserving dishwashers.
-Under the lower rack is the sump area with a filter that can be removed, usaully by removing several screws. Pull that filter, rinse is as best you can. Inspect under where the filter was and remove all debris. Watch out for broken glass that is found in most well used diswashers, it is hard to see and sharp! Reasemble the filter.
-If problems continue and if this diswasher is several years old, plan on getting the wash pump motor replaced (or replace the diswasher with a name brand, Energy Star model.) Good Luck!
Please update me with what you found. OK?

Diswasher detergent door

lizzie1 First thing check if the lower dish rack is in right position. If it is in wrong position it is not enough room for the lid to pop up open. Try to turn the dish rack around and see if it works. If not, then I'll need the full model number for your dish easher. Gendos...post back
