Hi, I have a wall mount midea split a/c model- MSG-36HR that will only heat. when put in cool mode it only blow's room temp air and the outdoor unit won't run. On heat mode it works normally. I have cycled power a couple of times, changed modes on the remote numerous times and just in case, changed the batteries in the remote. The unit is about 3 yrs old. Do you have any pointers. Cheers Tom

Most heat pumps are 'fail-safe to heat'. That is: the normal position of the valve which reverses the function is in the position which provides heat. The reversing valve must be powered to switch to the cooling position.

Although the lack of valve function could be a mechanically defective reversing valve - it's more likely to be an electrical issue. Start with checking for power at the reversing valve's coil. If it's powered unpower it - you will be able to hear the reversing valve distinctively

Make sure the indoor filters are clean. The outside unit will continue to run until the indoor reaches the temperature you have selected. Dirty filters can throw the temperature out. Its common for outdoor units to freeze up when on heating mode if the ambient air temperature is below 5 degrees Celcius.. The machine should however, defrost itself. There could be a problem with one of the pipe or air sensors on the outdoor unit.

Hi, I have a Daikin Model FTXS35D with RXS 35D 3VNB outdoor unit. Until this year it was excellent, now does not cool as before. Have cleaned filters etc. Could it be a sensor problem. When I...

Your unit should cool 15 to 20 degrees. 75 return air temp should be below 60 degree supply air temp. If you are not in this range you likely have a refrigerant problem.

I am looking to buy a mini split ac/heating 1 ton unit. I want to know how high from the floor does the unit have to be to cool and heat a 10 x 20 room?

Hi, when you buy your split system, the indoor unit will mount on your wall off off the floor a distance that the factory has made it for. With an 8' to 10' ceiling, it would be about 7' off the floor. This all depends on the refrigeration plumbing coming from the outdoor condenser to the indoor unit. It will tell you all of this on the installation kit for this unit, as the plumbing for the freon pipes are already pre-made for a certain height. A 1 ton, (12,000 btu) unit will have no trouble cooling a room of this size, so check with the manufacture on the height it will be.

Can i us a wall mounted air conditioner to build a small cool room for chilling lamb

Hi, correct me if i am wrong, but you want to use a wall mounted a/c to chill Lamb or other foods? Well, air conditioners are considered De-humidifiers, and medium temp. units, so if you cleaned out this room and put in the right materials on the walls and ceiling, you would have to maintain a safe temp 38*F and use this product as I am not sure what the shelf life would be? Check the sq. footage and get a unit more than large enough to maintain this temp. I know on a walk-in Refer, health inspectors want these boxes to be maintained at 38*F, and you can't accomplish this without modern refrigeration equipment. To chill it for a short time, maintain that temp and keep for you're own use.

Heats for 15 - 20 mins then blows cool air

If the outdoor unit is in defrost mode the compressor will be running but the outdoor fan will not. You may even see some steam rising from the coils. This mode is to prevent frost or ice build up on the outdoor coil. Essentially it goes into cooling mode w/o the outdoor fan running.

Fan coil unit won't cool or heat in room1 while room2 runs well

could be undercharged, or overcharged, or wires weren't put back on valves in unit.
