My d-link router isn't producing a strong enough internet signal

If you are experiencing connection issues, i would suggest that review the router settings before going for firmware updates. Most of the times the connection issues are due to settings only.

Hi,

In order to find the wireless security page of your Dlink wireless router DGL 4300 , please follow these setps

1. Open up the internet explorer in the comp in which you are online and clear the address bar and type in the number 192.168.0.1 and hit enter.

2. You will be logged into the D-Link router setup page .

3. Under the SETUP tab, in the left hand side, click on WIRELESS SETTINGS? you will find Wireless security Mode under which you can find the password for the wireless settings.

I think its the security encryption set-up.You change it in your router..I think its WPA-TKIP..or WEP..

If you know how to change then you can easily try it.

with the help of the default gateway you need to login to the router page and save the settings as per your internet service provider the reboot your router and check it

The best thing is to take it to Geek Squad to have them configure it. They have a fee but it will be easiest.

If not,

Open Internet Explorer or Firefox, Type in either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100.

Select where it says wireless, select WAP 2.
Set a password.
Save.
Restart.

Make sure your computer recognizes the settings to. Go to wireless settings on your computer and change them to the same as above. Let me know if you need further information.

yes, cause u changed the firmware it changed the wireless settings to default wpa.

if you have a computer open the gateway by:-

go to start-run-cmd-ipconfig

locate the default gateway and type it in internet explorer (usually in the format 192.168.x.x)

use it to change the wireless settings bak to WEP

Just turn of media sharing and reconfig your connection on your PS3. If problem persists get a gaming router the d-link gaming router dgl-4300 should do the trick

Plug the second router into the lan not the wan and it will act as a switch instead of a router

Try the following:
1. Hook up your router like you want it to be
2. After the WAN/Wireless lights turn off we want to HARDRESET your router.
3. There will be a small hole that requires a pen or paper clip to press...Hold this down for about 15 seconds, or untill the power light flashes on your router.

This might take care of it.
